Am I like... the only one who doesn't?

And also, I just don't see the need to upgrade my TV for videogames, it works just fine

Oh yeah, and I have seen what an HDTV can do, with movies and videogames, and I am not very impressed. I just don't see the point in it.

Well.. I have an LCD monitor that supports HDTV modes, if that counts. I run my 360 through this thing in 1080i with component.

Yes, 1080p no less.  If you have a next gen game system you need a next gen tv.  So if you have a Wii, you don't need a hdtv.

Sure you don't NEED an HDTV... just like you don't NEED any new video games...or need any new consoles, or tennis shoes, or tshirts, or education or anything else.

But people WANT them. And new movies and video games do look nice. Plus...it is really hard to find a nonHDTV that breaks the 40" barrier. And when you have a rather large living room, you kind of need one so as to not cram furniture around the little box.

If you aren't impressed, then you are either in denial or just flat out lying.

HD TV is gorgeous. Widescreen movies are a god send. And HD games are a sight to behold.

I'm trying to hold off on purchasing an HDTV until those nifty SED-TV's are in the market.  However since I plan to purchase all three systems later this year, I can't help but be tempted to get one now.  I haven't been exposed to HD much, but after seeing GeOW on my roommates HDTV, i'm pretty much hell bent on getting one.

I don't.

HD is great but just not worth the money when the TV I have right now is doing fine, imo.

Waiting for a price drop. I can wait for years.

Well if your sitting at a desk then it's actully bigger then a 50 Inch pending on how far you sit away from the monitor it's still fun a bigger screen would be nice but no need to spend 2000 when you can spend 40 to enjoy the moment..

Exactly. My CRT Monitor cost me £30. I don't plan on spending £500+ for a "HDTV" with lower resolutons.

That's a great point, would they be able to support the PS3 or Wii; if so I may reconsider waiting for that SED-tv.  :D

Well you can buy boxes on ebay that you can get 1080p out of your PS3 and 480p out of your monitor with the Wii just plug in your VGA DVI or HDMI cable into the box then plug all your systems in and play in High-def.

There are quite a few adults, of drinking age on this forum, so the answer will be yes overwhelmingly. If you can afford one, get one. As a gamer you'll never be more satisfied with the investment in an HDTV, no matter how small.
