OK..Can we all agree Xbox Live has by far the best online function for consoles?

Not to troll, because I love the fact that my PS3 and Wii have no payment. But still, after todays update, none of the other systems even come close to how awesome xbox live is. Not to troll, but still, people who don't accept this must have a legit reason

If the 360 had more dedicated servers, then I would say it's the best.

It really depends.

For some they don't need all that crap, they could careless of what there friends are playing or a bunch of other worthless features like Netflix.

They just simply what to do one thing: Play games Online.

seeing as i refuse to pay for gold out of principle i dont agree Live is better as the PSN offers me alot more for nothing.

Thats something that no one can deny, xbox live is better than wii or psn. But that is because ppl pay for xbox live, if they paid and psn or wii were better than xbox live then ppl would leave of course.

It is but I still can't believe that Microsoft charges money for a peer-to-peer online gaming service. If there were dedicated servers I'd understand but peer-to-peer? I mean you're basically paying a monthly fee for a nicer front-end. That would be like Mozilla charging you a fee to use Firefox or Apple charging you money to use iTunes.

i have to say that sometimes i'm glad psn has no fee because i would have a hard time justifying paying for two seperate services but then again when i'm on psn i wish i was paying so they had the money to implement the things that xbl does

Finished roaming the Dashboad and all I noticed that was different is that we have extra clothes for our avatars :?....how does this update make Live far better than PSN?

I'm sorry, but I'd have to dissagree. I think they all stand about equal. I don't care about some friends list or achievement points or trophy system. Sorry, I just don't think it adds much of anything. Show me some interesting games the 360 is bringing to the table that the others (including the PC) isn't and I'll start to care.

Absolutely When i use PSN it feels like im using the original xbox live when it launched.

XBOX LIVE is without equal for console online gaming and functionality, this is not up for debate.

XBL is better, but if you just want to play games online (like me) then PSN.

All psn needs is cross game chat/party chat voice and instint invite. After that xbl is really obsolite for me at least. Since everything els live has to offer after that is things i dont care about. Again still it worth the fee to me.

Why cause i dont want extra useless crap that doesint add to my gameplay experience. I dont care about the upcoming twitter,facebook and Netflix. If i was a member of netflix I wouldint want to pay an extra 50 bucks to use on my 360. I used live for 2 years and a couple of months and I can honestly say going back to PSN is not hard at all. Besides those 3 features I mentioned im not blown away by the differences.

psn also has an internet browser that I can go and browse the net anytime I want I also go to the psstore and look around for what's new.

it's FREE

I am a lem and just play games on line, I could care less for all these features.. I would be fine with PSN.. well I would want the cross game chat, but that is it.

Yeah I would say so but I haven't had a really long experiance with the PSN to really compare.

Well since you eliminated PCs, I'll half agree with you.

Live has the best online service if you are looking to do social networking type things like chat or see what other people are doing and such. The fact that it still has no browser is the silliest thing I've ever heard though.

When it comes to the whole point of an online component for a console, online gaming, Live has almost zero advantage at all. Some will point to cross game chat i guess as a gaming perk, but I'd say that has little to do with playing your game... if/when that comes to the PSN I see it being far more of a bother than a feature. They both mainly utilize p2p connections and consoles as servers, and both have similar lag and connection probelms as a result. PSN actually features more games with dedicated servers, and those give me a whole lot more benefit for gaming than any of Live's social features could.

So I guess Live has "by far the best online function" if we're not talking about games. If we're talking about games I'd say the PSN is around the same ballpark, with each having minor advantages over the other.
