How enlightening . . . Anyway, Nintendo should step up a little in terms of productions but I'm fine with what they have put out thus far.

Nintendo hasn't really changed all that much. It's always been a pretty conservative company.

I found the first commercial boring and cheezy (Samus jumping. Lol) to be honest.

Anyway, I like how they are trying to get more people to play games, and their games are still amazing, so I'm fine with it.

This is what i thinks these commercials are trying to say.
Old: This game is mature, dark and gritty, it is cool and is a great game for hardcore gamers.

New: You can play this game and control the characters actions with the motion sensing controller. This game is good because everyone can play it including women and successful middle aged people, not just young people. Playing this game on this console is a social thing.

They are trying to go more for the casual gamer in the new commercials.

Whats wrong with more people like to play Metroid Prime? Some people act so defensive about the possibility that gaming might become mainstream, so protective of your little hobby. My god, who cares if middle aged people, and.... women might want to play too. Why be so protective, so divisive, so much that you say the word "casuals" with scorn, as though they some how are attacking you, somehow they are prevent you from playing the "hardcore" games like Metroid Prime 3. Like if we let these "casuals" play the game they'll break into my house and steal my console, and oh no another hardcore gamers life is ruined by a casual! Seriously, thats how people act. My girlfriend at the time of Metroid Prime 3 had never really played video games, but she tried Metroid Prime 3, b/c Nintendo's marketing empowered her, made her less intimidated by gaming, and guess what, she liked it! Damn Nintendo!

2D Nintendo is the best.

The only thing you can even slightly arguewith these vids is "Nintendo doesn't make good commercials anymore." Other than that, this doesn't prove a damn thing about changes in the company.

I actually like the new commericals.. They are no where near the train wreck of ones like Playstation 3.. The Baby one was creepy and didn't make ANY sense what so ever.

I always though they were the same company. Release 5-10 versions of one handheld while making crap Consoles. Both Handhelds and Console keep the same games for decades and people love it

Nintendo's past consoles were awesome. There are only a handful of good games for the Wii compared to the large amount of good games available for Gamecube, N64, etc.

ignorant is when you play all those generic FPS which keep on doing the same **** they did ever since Doom came out

and then get all hissy when nintendo realeses a new mario game

its like saying "hey i have been playing the same games for about 20 years but i dont like it when nintendo realeses games other people would like to play for 20 years"

the only diffrence is that nintendo is the only one making zelda and mario, so you basicly cant get this feeling anywere eals.

if they suddenly stopped there would be no platformers or action advanture games as awesome as those.

while if 1 company stoped FPS there would still be 10 other making the same games.

Well, there advertising methods have changed... but they are only slowly changing in terms of game design. Most of their games are still based on the same formulas that were used 20 years ago. Hopefully they will start changing that soon.
