they screwed it? yeah sorry Strangers wraith was the highlight of the franchise, the past games were crap compared, Its not the xbox's fault the game was a underground hit and not a main stream hit. *though the past oddworld games weren't main stream hits either* and dino crisis? lol that franchise sucked since inception. Who wanted to play resident evil but with dinosaurs?"So yes, we will be seeing more from Oddworld. Regarding the library, we are in the process of convertingOddworld: Munch's OddyseeandOddworld: Stranger's Wrathto the PC, so that all four of the major Oddworld games will be re-releasing this winter in a package called "The Oddbox." This will be the Abe games, Munch, and Stranger as one package for Steam's digital distribution network, as well as a few other digital distribution outlets."
Oddbox will come to 360, ps3, and steam.

Who wanted to play resident evil but with dinosaurs?Abe's Oddysee received a well-deserved 8.4. The game is still awesome, with beautifully designed pre-rendered visuals with the best art design of any game I've ever seen in my life and deeply thought provoking puzzles.
Abe's Exoddus received a 9.4. The ONLY game in the entire series that could be considered "mediocre" (read: not crap) is Munch's Oddysee. Every other game in the series has been superb.

I'm not a fanboy I just despise Microsoft. I didn't realize that I should welcome a gigantic monolithic software magnate with open arms and allow them to dominate two industries with the biggest impact on the videogame industry. No, I hate Microsoft and I feel I should be allowed to wear that on my sleeve. By the way, there's nothing wrong with the Xbox 360 as far as being a bad platform (it's certainly not a failbox 360), but the Xbox wasn't all that fantastic. Save a few good RPGs and shooters plus Ninja Gaiden it really wasn't the best platform on the market and totally paled in comparison to the Playstation 2. The Playstation 2 was lightbeers ahead of the Xbox and thus I should have seen Oddworld on the platform. We will just play it on our up to date gaming PC's.:Phttp://bitmob.com/index.php/mobfeed/oddworld-inhabitants-interview-with-lorne-lanning.html

By the way, Lorne Lanning made it pretty clear that the Oddbox will be released on Steam (with a collection of all four games to complement the currently released Oddworld Abe series) and that only the Abe series will be released on PSN.
They said nothing at all about the new game and nothing at all about it being a PS3/PC exclusive and thus this thread is a more or less a fanboy blowing smoke up our ass.
I suggest all of you read the article to see what Lanning really said. This project is probably nothing much at the moment and is probably in preliminary phases and could very well be multiplatform.
O wow, the oddbox for me just became a must buy. TC, I really don't see how it's the xbox's fault if Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath "screwed up" the series for you, that would be the developers as the xbox doesn't make games. I actually found both those titles very enjoyable.
My issue with Munch's Oddysee is that I played it this generation and Xbox games in 3D generally do not age well. This is compared with the Abe series (pre-rendered graphics in 2 dimensions) which I can not only play but I can enjoy as a kind of artistic masterwork in games. That and the gameplay in that game was just bad compared to the extremely challenging and tight puzzle/platforming of the original games.O wow, the oddbox for me just became a must buy. No, according to system wars logic we call games on multiple platforms multiplatform titles and games that are exclusive to one platform exclusives. Anything else we call a strawman fallacy. Which is what you've just committed. No one is saying that everyone will be able to play games on the alternate platform, but neither should you say that no one will be able to. Fanboys don't have to play games exclusively on one platform, there is still ownage when games are announced multiplatform. The only time multiplatform games count for your system is when counting AAA/AA/A tallies, which last time I checked was all the time. Fact of the matter is 360 still has Mass Effect and PS3 doesn't, which means 360 has +1 AA and PS3 gets nothing from that transaction.[QUOTE="PAL360"]

I'm not saying you can't. I would have loved to play Panzer Dragoon Orta and Oddworld, for a start. You had Morrowind and Jade Empire along with Halo, one of the greatest console FPS franchises ever. Compare that to Killzone 1 on PS2. If you simply loved those games to death, you've got something to adore you can't find on PS2. It happens. But whether you had more fun on Xbox or not, it's simply not objectively the superior platform.sounds like you take pride in being a fanboy...have fun with that

I'm really glad they're porting the two Xbox Oddworld games to PC, I always wanted to play Stranger's Wrath, but pad controls make any FPS completely unplayable for me
Ermm...they never said that, they only talked about PC getting the Oddbox and PSN getting the two first Abe games. While I doubt they won't release all games on as many platforms as possible, they never stated it in this interview. Other digital distribution outlets mean stuff like D2D or Impulse, not consoles"So yes, we will be seeing more from Oddworld.
