I went through 2 my self...didnt bother with another one. Theres No excuse for such a SERIOUS HARDWARE PROBLEM...It isnt just the drive faults..but of MANY fault INCLUDING the most serious be the heating issue. This needs to be fix ASAP...NO more BS and EXTENDED Cr@p.

Its a huge problem...Not every console will die out, but eventually they will...your just lucky. Its a eternal problem and has to do with the bad GPU cooling solution, that MS STILL can't admit and STILL ignore.

Is it not possible he had other issues which aren't covered? The 3RRoD is the most well-known but not the sole hardware problem with the system.

I didnt say that the warranty fixed the problem and I do admit that i had to send my 360 back for repairs twice which is just plain ridiculous but regardless it does show that Microsoft is aware of the situation and making an decentstep towards fixing the problem(The warranty was against Microsoft's favor financially).

Why can't people read? Where did i state that every 360 dies? Good 4 u if yours still works..but the chances of it failing is high....considering its at a 33% failure rate, right? Say milkage and whatever you want but Sony had to get a lawsuit before they seriously fixed the problem and addressed it. And the PS2 problem was not a small one. I know guys who were on their third, one guy's third died so he can't even play it anymore.

And you said it still hasn't been fixed. Aren't they implementing the new design now? So did you just buy your 360 or something.

Anywho you should return your dead one cause the warranty is now 3 years. MS made a HUGE mistake and they're owning up to it in aHUGE way by going in the red again. I guess someone learned from Sony's handling of the PS2 problems

I'd be left without a console for how long? Halo 3 is coming out in a month and I'm more than willing to risk waiting until I complete the game. That and I just bought some XBL gold, god knows how long it'll be with Microsoft for.

Ummmm...you expected that a warranty would fix the source problem? Hello, hello.

We have known for a long time that until the 65nm units make it into the marketplace the problem won't be solved.

The best we have been able to presume is that the extra heatsink would greatly reduce the number of problems. Which, given the much lower level of volume on the net about 360 problems seems to be the case.

Finally, why do you leap to the conclusion that this one particular console has the same problem as the others after only 20 mins of play? It might. It might not, as the general hardware fault covers many potential issues.

A sample of one does not make me go OMG, WTF teh evil MS, especially when I know that the problem isn't expected to be solved yet (till the 65nm units), just reduced.

It seems to me that getting your panties in a twist over this is huge over reaction...dare I say fanboyish.
