The damage control from Killzone 1 was priceless. A heavily hyped 1st party game from Sony=6.9. Damage control doesn't start until the game is released and scored. After Socom; Confrontation flopped, it is you who should be scared.;)

Wrong, Sony said it was already finish and suppose to come out this holiday but they delayed it so they could let other shooters shine like Socom and Resistance 2.

True. If Guerrilla Games wants to compete graphicaly with gems like Uncharted and Gears 2 (and even their own pre-rendered 'target') they should delay KZ2 until next Christmas ;)

WRONG, its getting extra dev time, giving devs more time to polish, fine tune and iron out bugs etc. The devs don't just wait, lol....its still being worked on.

This man makes sense! Though KZ2's textures aren't the highest-resed (does that make sense :?), their artistic design is superb (definitely will be superior to the beta by release). Also, it trumps most other games in animations, lighting, depth of field, and post-processing effects. I need to think of a different word than atmospheric :P.

Yeah, that's true, but don't think for a second GG won't take advatage of the delay lol. Not only that, we're looking at a beta build created in May.

How about COD4-ish...?

No doubt that KZ2 is similar to CoD4 in terms of sty|e. But like all great things, it has its own flair that sets itself apart. Setting, art design, mechanics, animation quirks, visual elements, etc. And let's not think that GG is inspiredby or capitalizing on CoD4's sty|e. They've been designing KZ2's engine and art since the first released (which was birthed by it's own innovative sty|e). It's just that CoD4 came before it in this next-generation. Personally, I'm confident in saying KZ2 is much more 'atmospheric' than CoD4 :). (no disrespect to it or IW :P)

Well you obviously haven't played crysis.

KZ2 surely looks visually stunning for a console game... wont even compare it to Crysis because that game running on a high end PC is just way better than anything consoles can offer..

Regarding KZ2 being console graphics king, lets just wait till the game gets released and we go through the sp campaign, then we may discuss whether it will be the console graphics king or not...

The graphics look incredible, from the lighting to the shadows and textures, all I can say is WOW.

I play Crysis on high settings and this game is the only game after Crysis to wow me in graphics.

Dare I say it? When this game finally releases it will be the only title to be in the same league as Crysis.

Isn't this whole thread that you're commenting in show how cows need reassurance. There have been so many of these "graphics king" and "year of the PS3" threads this year that its pretty rediculous.

Also, it really didn't seem like Toriko42 was agitated when he wrote his comment. I suppose it's how you take it when you read it. i didn't say i'm not going to play it anymore either, i just don't think it's as pretty as others say. if anything it suffers from the same thing PDZ and Kameo did - everything is so damned shiny and the overuse of bump and normal maps is nuts. makes it looks like nearly everything is made of plastic, or covered in a plastic laminate.

heh, i had a feeling it was a joke. i don't really like gears 2 - but man did it floor me how much better it looks than Gears 1. it's like night and day for some levels.

Killzone 2 >>>> Far Cry 2 >>>> RE5 >>>> MGS4 >>>> Gears 2 >>>> Uncharted >>>> All

I know Uncharted looks great and is a texture beast but the reason its after Gears 2 is because it renders small environements ccompared to the other games. But seriously, Killzone 2 is easily the most impressive.

But anywho, my roommate did own Gears, and I know that it certainly does have more shiny than you can shake a stick at. It's not a conundrum to say the least that Killzone 2 has no where near if not any shininess to compare the two.

Yeah I am not in the beta, but from what I have heard on others who are in the beta, the graphics are top notch, a step above Gears 2 to say the least, and sorry but no lemming is going to convince me other wise. Cause there are a Ton of lemmings here trying to convince otherwise, many (probably including you) don't even own a PS3 and are just jealous at all the great exclusives coming out for it.

So keep your Halo, and Gears (which I was planning on getting on the PC), I am going to stick with a console that doesn't RRoD. ;)

Answer - NO

I love my PS3, but I have come to realize that most of the games I have that have "graphics that rule or are king" tend to dissapoint (AKA- MGS4). I a keeping my expectations low, so I am not dissapointed like I have been with some games in the past. (again MGS4)

Crysis Graphics >>>>Flopzone 2 graphics.

No console games can come close to Crysis or Crysis Warhead level of graphics.

As for the best consol graphics its between Uncharted, Gears2 and Kameo imo.

I can say this though... FLOPZONE2 WILL FLOP JUST LIKE FLOPZONE1! :P

I will chalk up anything to do with Killzone 2 as Believe it when I see it on my home TV.

PS3 folks have been going on about Killzone since prior to launch.

So in reality, they are in very different leagues especially if you take an objective approach when comparing the 2 games.

The thing I think a lot of you fanboys are impressed with is the animation.  It's very good.  The running, movement and flow of the game is excellent.  However, if you pause the game or take a screen shot, aside from the occasional upclose rendering of mud, you get low res wall textures, low res character models and in particular no normal/bump mapping on characters. 

Sorry guys, it's no graphics king if you really stop to take a look!
