Konami should put MGS on there ASAP. I run into people all the time that say MGS4 looks cool , but they have never played any in the series before. This would save them a lot of hassle tying to look for it.Sure , their eyes might burn .... but it would be worth it.

Love the idea myself and downloaded 1.70 as soon as I could but...uh.....one problem...
when the heck can we start downloading PSone games for PS3 and not PSP?
This Thursday...maybe the next?
Problem is, we get this cool new thing, and we can't do anything with it. Do we have to download the software to convert PSP downloads into PS3 usuable ones? What will the price be...more? What games will we get? I'd like Legend of Dragoon personally. It's published by Sony, but all the PSP downloadable are from like 1997-98. Not cool....
When more comes out about this, then I'll be excited. Till then, I don't give a ****
Hell ya i'll be downloading some Playstation games for sure! -supercharged-
Heck yea, sheesh. Gran Turismo 1 and 2. Twisted Metal 3, MGS, Final fantasy games, resident evil games, silent hill, Syphon filter, Mortal Kombat 4 sheesh my time will now be consumed lolÂ

On ign last week they conducted a interview with one of the sony execs and they said to start looking for the first batch of PSone downloadable games for the PS3 in early-mid may, so just around the cornerÂ

It is a great feature, for sure. And Sony has a nice pricing structure. The Carnival Circus that is M$ Xbox Points is horrible. GH2 DL's are 500 pts...how much is that?
M$ get real, and tell us what you are charging. I don't know how many times I've had to do some ZANY math to figure out if I want to pay that price or not. I realize some geeky gamers just don't care, but I like to actually know what I'm paying for everything.
I like Nintendo's System, even though it is point based, $20 = 2000 pts...very easy to follow.

Maybe I could trust that once they start giving me some release dates I can have a little faith in....if this thursday brings no Rub-a-Dub or Calling All Cars...*sighs*
oh, also. There goes the argument "who wants to pay for old games when you can download them and play them on your computer for free?"

989 studios really mucked up TM3 and TM4.
Jaffe and Campbell last Sony games were TM 1 & TM2. After that, SingleTrac left, and eventually came back as Incog. Of Course, you knew this, but I'm posting this for others to see.
Â
TM was a fun game, but TM2 was great.
That was no kind of argument to begin with. It's like saying, why pay for a TV when you can break a show window and make a run for it?oh, also. There goes the argument "who wants to pay for old games when you can download them and play them on your computer for free?"

I'd rather just play PS1 games on the PS2. Much cheaper than buying a 700 dollar system.ZebethOrZebes
IF you can find them. What's with everyone adding higher and higher prices to the PS3? I can only assume you live outside the US, but either way, this is just a neat lil' bonus, that's all. Good for everyone.Â

Was there anything 989 Sports didn't screw up back in the day? LOL, EAÂ Sports owned anything they released in terms of that genre and they even ruined coolboarders for goodness sake! Man I cursed them back when I loved my PSone. They were to me the only stain on what was the perfect 32-bit console!

Yes, TM2 is my fave, more so than black for sentimental reasons, since I think it was more original and special back then.I also liked Rogue Trip by SingleTrac, I don't know if you had the chance to play it.Â
where you born yesterday. SONY copies again.gaming_nerd
XBLA is NOTHING like what is offered for the PS3's setup. As a matter of fact, Prior to the 360 Coming out, Sony stated they were going to sell Virtual Product to users with the PS3. Old news, bub.
In fact, considering XBLA's age, I'm surprised at how slowly it's grown. Still, the VC is king in this regard.Â
Either way, Sony could either
A.) Offer their old games to new and old PS users.
ORÂ
B.) Not.
They made the right decision for their customers, you have a problem with a company giving more to their fans, then stop gaming and go move into the woods away from the outside world. You will be happier with Nature.Â

I played it at a friends house, and although I liked it, I never gave it the ol' college whirl, so that's one game I will have to look for again. I remember reading in Gamepro or EGM that SingleTrac did it, but completely spaced it until now, years later. Maybe I can pick it up with this PSOne service, since I won TM and TM2.Â
But wait! Sony has a 10 year life span, so didn't you just get done with these PS1 games 2 years ago???Â
OK, that was awful and petty of me, I apologise.
Cool news, PS1 had tons of really great games, just hope they don't overcharge for them :)
A lot of people are overlooking this new firmware update that will allow PSone games to now be avaliable for play with the PS3 by downloading from the playstation store. I dont think it has sunk in yet what this means.. it basically means that Games such as Final Fantasy VII, MGS, Syphon Filter, Gran Turismo, Mortal Kombat 4, Original Tony Hawk's pro skater, Twisted metal franchise, crash bandicoot, resident evil games etc will be avaliable for download through PSN to play on the PS3!! that is HUGE if you ask me, you might already say "well what if you already own those games for the PSone" well if your like me and many other people out there that dont own any of the PSone games anymore, ITS GREAT NEWS!! Honestly, once all these games become avaliable for download, it will own anything xbox live arcade can offer!Ahammer80
Live has new original games as well as redone retro games.Â

If that's what they're charging for PSone games, Sony can blow me.

everyone does realize that ps1 will be available for download on xbla right. i mean they are not sonys games after all. look at castlevania. dont be so stupid. if these publishers who actually own the rights to the games want more money, than they will release them on xbla and the ps3 network.pumpkinescobar
Yeah, PS3 will be Sony published games and maybe anything done by Namco thanks to that Sony/Namco marriage of sorts.
So here's what we're looking at:
Crash Bandicoot
Spyro the Dragon
Syphon Filter
Legend of Dragoon
Coolboarders
Jet Moto
Medievil
All 989 Sports games
Twisted Metal
and Jersey Devil just to name a few.
Heck, anyone remember Blasto?! That was published by Sony! wOoT! I used to love that game.
