On the real, how are people actually running Crysis?

Everytime we talk of Crysis, an assumption is made that everyone is running the game at max. So I'm curious to know, what settings do you run Crysis at. And I'm talking about "real settings" not fudged settings. Sure I could run everything on max and 16x FSAA, but the FPS would be unplayable. I would also like to know what's the lowest specs anyone has run Crysis on and still had it be "playable" with "acceptable" (atleast PS3/X360 level) graphics. I'm also curious to know if enough people here actually experience the best graphics out there, or if they just put up with low settings or something, because the way people bring up Crysis, you would think everyone is running it perfect (except for me of course :x)

I don't have Vista, so I run mine with everything on high, expect for Shadows (medium) and Post-Processing(Medium) and without any AA I get 60 FPS in low density areas, 45-50 in high density areas with light gun fire and 30-35 with full on action, with things blowing up everywhere. If I put 2x AA I get 30FPS in high density calm times. AA literaly cuts my FPS in half! :x

Oh yeah, I also use a custom Config file to get the HDR looking all sexy like.

Overall the game looks better than Console games at those setting but my God do the jaggies make my eyes bleed :x

What hardware are you using.

I dont see those eye cutting jaggies you speak of, either im blind, or your being sarcastic. Also i used the same settings you are about when crysis first game out, luckily im running all very high now 8)

I have 4GB RAM but only using 2GB during the test because I think one of my sticks is messed up (causing BSODs, so currently diagnosing)

what i don't understand is why are people still always talking about Crysis? its 3 years old, its short, and it has a crappy multiplayer component that nobody plays. I don't know why PC gamers always brag about games they haven't booted up in ages.

what i don't understand is why are people still always talking about Crysis? its 3 years old, its short, and it has a crappy multiplayer component that nobody plays. I don't know why PC gamers always brag about games they haven't booted up in ages.

right now i run real lifesis @ 1024 x 768 (i have a small monitor atm) with 4x AA @ 30+ fps

I max it out at 1680x1050, no AA, with around 30-40 fps. I wish I had some screens but I only have warhead since I reformatted and I don't know how to take screens with a steam copy.

Everything on high, 1920 x 1080 on my 23". Runs stable about 30 fps....sometimes I turn some of the settings to MEDIUM and it runs 40ish.

runs fine on my rig with everything set to very high, just 2x AA (game unmodded) on a $140 video card

Very High settings at 19x12 with 30FPS+ usually. Can have 2xAA but I don't really need it at that rez.

I use a heavily overclocked 4870 and e8400 @ 4ghz.

and heres some screen shots of crysis on my pc run it at 1920x1200 using ccc 2.21 lv5 with custom tod use crysis built in edgeAA which imo looks better then regular AA as it works on the foliage which there is alot of. runs at 30-35 fps on my 4870 1G paired with an i7 920 rig. anyone with a decent dualcore and at least a 4850 should be able to get 95% of these graphics running lvl4 of ccc 2.21 at high resolutions which is not very expensive.

I get mostly 30-35 fps for both Crysis and Warhead outdoors at 1440x900 and 2xAA with a mix of High-Very High settings.

Indoors or underground in Warhead isn't too bad.

I run it at 1920x1080 with everything on very high except shadows, post-processing effects, shaders, and sound on high with 0 AA and get 30+ fps. If I turn on 4xAA it runs at 25fps. If I max everything with 4xAA I get about 20fps.

Gawd you guys are old. Crysis has already been maxed out tens times over. Even the cheap stuff can do it now. Let it go already.

Cryengine2 by itself, cannot be "maxed out" since the more hardware that comes out, the more capable the engine is. Kind of like the source engine.

Probably not. The closest would probably be the 5970 or GTX 480. However at that rez, AA isn't a huge necessity.

Here we go... Max settings, no AA at 1280x1024 (lots of stuff going on on-screen)

1280x720, 2xAA, high settings. roughly 30 fps with nothing going on. so basically no where near maxing it out. but I have a C2D @ 3.0, 4GB RAM, and a HD 4850. not the best PC. :(

lol, I don't want to know how much that cost. tbh crysis isn't worth upgrading anyway. it's a good bench, but the game is meh.
