You realize there is a SCEA division set up just for that problem.Darthmatt
yeah, but there's probably still lots of japanese employees there who don't speak the best english. we have all been in that awkward situation when trying to understand someone with broken english. everyone at microsoft speaks great english, so EA can just call em up and make some AAA games.

Your assumption is based on EA having little experience working with Sony (PS2, PS1...etc). Also SCEA is an American based division tasked to mitigate game development between Western developers and Sony corporate. Also I doubt SCEA is staffed full of Japanese employees.[QUOTE="accameron"][QUOTE="Darthmatt"]You realize there is a SCEA division set up just for that problem.kevy619

um yes.
Lol you fail to see the irony here. He's skewering the concept cows and sheep have that MS can't do well in Japan because they aren't a Japanese company and don't understand the market. He's flipped it around on them. Brilliant work!JiveT
Actually.. that is pretty good lol
Maybe the reason that all of the EA games are better on the 360 than the PS3, are released earlier, sell much better on the 360 than the PS3, etc, is that both EA and Microsoft are American companies. Probably everyone at both companies speak english. On the other hand, there are probably lots of japanese employees at sony that do not speak english. probably because there are more english speakers at microsoft, EA can call anyone there and say "hey, we have this great game idea. let's make a game on your console" while with the PS3, they can only call the few employees who speak english. I think that my theory is rock solid.accameron
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude, you need to get a life. You're such a tool! LOL!!!

So that explains all the awsome looking japanese games for teh PS3 right? Wrong. All the best looking games this gen so far are from western developers.

You think there is any other reason why the Xbox brand failed in Japan? If you have any theories please elaborate. MS's failure to adjust to the japanese market is a nock against them not an excuse. Sony and Nintendo have very big well funded branches in the US which could be big corperations in themselves with Americans making all the marketing decisions and producing western style games for the US and Europ. If MS wants to do well in japan they need a much bigger more independent branch there.
