So this was brought to my attention in another thread and it had me wondering, how many of you actually game with your headset on and do you find it to vastly improve a game your in?

I would say I game with it 30% of the time. I mainly just use it when Im on with friends but rarely turn it on when Im in a room without any, I dont know its weird I would just rather play without it then make my teammates suffer through me complaining about how scrubby they are and how the lag is screwing me over :P

Never seeing i don't own one. I will be picking one up when i go to get GTA IV though on Saterday. I think being able to communicate with people would be a very nice experience

I have a USB logitech headset and usually have it plugged it when playing CoD4, but if no one is talking in the room, I tend to mute it, because I don't want to randomly yell in my mic because I'd die or something stupid because I would imagine it's annoying to everyone else.

I think it makes a huge difference dependant on the game variation being played. R6 Vegas is a tactical game like a Socom where teamwork in most instances will greatly affect winning.

RFoM and Warhawk were two examples of games where the lack of a unified headset really hurt the online experience I had with the games. Meldown and Breach were two of my favorite gametypes in RFom, and majority of the cases it was very difficult to coordinate any sort of strategies. I recall playing one match where a good 80% of the people on my team had headsets and it almost felt like a different experience.

Always go in with a headset. Even if I don't talk to anyone in the game, it's there so I don't have to listen to people screaming through my surround speakers (imagine being cursed in surround sound! :P ) also because when I need to provide info or any other intel on games I use it. (Behind you Akea2!#xIsbulanx) You know... that stuff. :P

But it doesn't matter for PSN games... I mean I go online with my bluetooth, but what's the point? MGO is one game that's critical on intel and team info, but hardly anyone has a headset on the beta (and Id on't expect many to have it for the full game)

I think no headset is just bad, because for games that count, people who want it, or any other reason (like am I actually playing someone or a bot?) Headsets break that wall down and make it feel like you are online.
