from the FTC leak from the other day (period reported July 1,2022 - March 31, 2023)
Nintendo has the lowest actual sales but the most profits
Xbox is 2nd in both sales and profits
Playstation is #1 in sales but 3rd in profit

Nintendo being first in profit is no secret since they report it every quarter. It is surprising that at least between July 2022 and March 2023 that Xbox had the edge in profits.
Nintendo is literally selling you refurbished Nokia phones from 2001. This is what was used to build Switches. Of course their profits are extreme when you're building them out of garbage.
Gotta move these cooked Infographs. Apples vs oranges vs fish sticks. We are comparing PS’s operating income to Nintendos net income (lol wut?!?!) and Xbox’s “accountability margin”? Xbox’s bar would be in the negative otherwise and Nintendo would be twice as high
The shit some of y’all fall for
Ahh here we go:
https://www.tweaktown.com/news/93375/xbox-profits-revealed-in-new-ftc-leak/index.html
According to our findings, Xbox gaming had a 12% accountability margin (AM) for 9 month period in FY22. However, in the aforementioned testimony, Spencer says that "the Xbox business today runs at a single-digit profit margin."
Comparing this number with the other Big 3 players isn't exactly straightforward. The accountability methods may be different. We're not entirely sure how Microsoft calculates its accountability margin, but the closest comparisons we have are PlayStation's $1.419 billion in operating income, which represents a 7% margin, and $2.977 billion in net profit from Nintendo, which represents a strong 25% margin.
While it's tough to compare these profits together, we at least have a better idea of Xbox's P&L numbers and actual concrete values for the first time.
Damage control initiated. Begin internet sweep to mitigate the hurt.😂
Damn you're mad because I read the fine print?
I didn't even say anything I just quoted the article and you're still triggered.
@Pedro: We know you rather be lied to than actually apply any critical thought to anything.
@Zero_epyon:lol! Why wouldn’t they use the accountability margin of all three and represent it in that graph? I mean, we know why. But not everyone is just gonna accept their information as genuine. At least they labeled the graph in an honest manner. And their base clearly isn’t gonna actually read it as we see above. But it’s just so silly and makes them look worse in the end.

Phil‘s emails has them shook. Damn reading the fine print, we can’t even quote Phil Spencer without being called conspiracy theorists. Now reading words provided by Xbox is damage controlling. Lems have had some pretty tough times on this board, but we are witnessing a new low.

Yep! I am mad because your dialogue has been shutdown.😂
Ugh I never thought lems would be down this bad.
But nah it's "Sony Owned cause chart"
Laughing stocks lol

this.
@Zero_epyon: Operating income and net income aren’t even the same thing. None of the comparisons in this graph are valid. But why did they do this? Are they trying to downplay Nintendo as competitors? Are they trying to minimize the efficacy of their business model? Nintendo has amazing margins because they spend so little and bring in so much vs the wild spending and meh margins that PlayStation and ESPECIALLY Xbox have. Hiding numbers is one thing, but this manipulating the data to paint a different picture is just sucker shit.
PlayStation's operating profits were ~$3B in FY20 and FY21. It was lower in the timeframe of that report because they were eating costs trying to ship more PS5s (they moved a record number of 6m in Jan-Mar 2023) and, 1st party investments like Bungie ($3.6B acquisition).
That being said, Nintendo has always had industry leading profit margins.
Misinformation is fine as long as it's pro Xbox.

Their fanbase is a testament to why they remain in last place - they lap up everything that Microsoft does and praise it to the high heavens uncritically.
Even in response to Phil himself calling the first year and a half of this gen a disaster for Xbox, the fanboys are out here with sarcastic responses like it was the best period for Xbox.
Ugh I never thought lems would be down this bad.

I understand that this thread has you triggered. I am sorry that my comment also triggered you but I can promise, my comments will trigger you again.😂
Sony fannies live and breath Phil Spencer. He wasn't mentioned in the OP or by anyone except for the Sony fannies who pretend not to be.🤭

SMDH....
You came into this thread crying about Phil's emails.
Denial stage, I see.
Strange, point me to the comment that mentions Phil's email? I will wait.🤭
Sony being third is ruffling the Sony fannies.
This entire thread is about leaked everything, including emails? - Demonstrating your level of comprehension here...
Even the reports about Xbox dropping out have you in damage control overdrive mode. It's not like any posters here made it up.
However, I understand: must be tough realizing that you've been lied to. You're in the stage of denial. It will get better when you accept everything that's been leaked.

Cool story. Now point me to the section where I mentioned Phil's emails.🤭
There's damage control and then there's clowning around. I prefer reading damage control. It's more entertaining.
Horrendous thread backfire, lol.
Pulled down a few others with him as well.
They had beef with the article as if I wrote it lol
@Zero_epyon: Lol, I've noticed a few on here that don't like truth. It's like they're allergic to it.

This is how they're responding to everything in the leaks. The Sony fan boogeyman conjured it all up.
Wait. Is this TweakTowns graphic or Xbox’s? We may be clowning the wrong people.
It's TweakTown's graphic.

It's TweakTown's graphic.
Oh, nevermind! My bad Phil! I thought the graph came from the leak, but then I wasn’t able to find a graph without the TT watermark and realized my criticism was misdirected
What’s up with games media being so bad at graphs? Reminds me of this.

Right. TweakTown made their own graphic based on a comparison they even admit isn't an accurate one. The problem is lems around the internet just took the bad graph and ran with it.
Lmao that xbox is more profitable than Sony. Kinda hard to not be profitable with gamepass revenue though.

What the hell you've expected, Xbox peeps love to be brainwashed and lied constantly
The chart should have never existed in the first place. It was completely irresponsible. The shit was up for a day and it’s got Xbox Twitter folks looking absolutely foolish (more than usual). Not everyone reads all the words or knows/researches what the stuff means. Folks should be able to take this information at face value…
Lmao that xbox is more profitable than Sony. Kinda hard to not be profitable with gamepass revenue though.
According to some uneducated people in this forum, Game Pass is losing Microsoft Millions.
Actually not this forum, though. According to document leaks and calculations
$0.26-$0.76 per hour loss. Full threas here
THE ECONOMICS OF #GamePass MEGA THREAD
— KarateBoy, Compounder brah (@_KarateBoy_) September 19, 2023
THIS x-storm I will explain
1. How and how much money does @Xbox Game Pass makes per user per month
2. How much it probably cost XBOX to acquire content and why do I believe it is loss-making despite claims to the contrary
3. Why…

The instant I read probably in the post I switched off.
Considering GamePass is a massive part of Xbox and they are making more profit than Sony while selling less consoles. I'll need more concrete evidence than probably.
