That score is inflated for being nice to the developers honestly. I have the game and it could score a 5.5 and I would agree the game STINKS. And I'm a huge fane of OFP 1.

7.5 sound about right to me. Its not a bad game by any means, but in my opinion, it fall short when compared to Arma 2.

I was expecting AA or something, not sure if I'll be picking this up, I have never played an OF game and I may want to pick up ArmA 2 instead.

As for no PC review, what do you expect from GS? They usually put up the PC version review of a game last.

Try the Arma 2 demo first. If it seems above you, then I would go for Dragon Rising...

This is one of my favorite games,

ive been wanting a realistic military shooter and it really delivers, its not un common to have to pick guys off any where from 70-200 meters away or even more.

theres a plethora of vehicles and weapons and the co op is great.

and the enemy AI is great, theres been numerous times where ill be shooting at one squad and i see like five more guys coming around the side to flank me. its so friggin awesome!!

it does have its minor quirks tho:

Graphics= Meh

Bodys Dissappear often

occasional pop up

but other than that its awesome

The game has definitely grown on me. I went in thinking it would be very meh, but was pleasently suprised. The online is rather meh compared to Arma 2 though. I agree with these quirks as well...

yea if i had a good computer i would l ove to buy ARMA but i have it on PS3, yea if the Online was 8v8 thatd be better, but i played one game last night and the lag was gorrid so i might just wait a little while until i really judge the PvP..

He's OPF1 fan, so he's used to much bigger punishments than OPF2 offers and that's why he doesn't like OPF2, because it's not really Operation Flashpoint, but GhostRecon hiding under OPF name

Gave it a try and it's very different from the first OFP. It's nowhere near comparable to ArmA 2 as a military simulator, but if you only own a console it's probably as close as you can get as of his moment. Overall I liked it, but I see myself going back to ArmA 2 soon enough.

It's at least on level with the hollywood-shooter MW2 in terms of quality experience :P so i'm interested what that will score here.
Very good AI, which is probably the games strongest asset.
It's like an Arma2 light version. (Which is an improvement imo.)
You can still die with 1 bullet, You can make enemies run away etc, but it works a lot more smooth.
I do think MW2 will be more fun, and ten times shorter.

The publishers always send the 360 version first. Its likely to the one that'll sell the most. Its not some conspiracy on GS's behalf to deliberately hide the PC version from you.. "It is I the mysterious reviewer who only goes by the initials KVO...I have hatched a great scheme to hid from them all the PC Versions! They minds shall be wrapped around this great flying machine! The Xtreme Box Three Hundred and Sixty!"

Thanks Gamespot, the version all of system wars unwaveringly admits is the superior version gets shafted by not getting a review. Why would anyone in their right mind buy the console version anyway? This is insanely annoying. I own a PC. I want a PC review because I don't buy first-person shooters, or really any multiplatform titles, on my console, because they tend to be ugly and have atrocious networking.

I have it too, I played the 1st mission like yourself and a bit of the secind one. For me it's just that the world/island so far feels a bit empty. But I've just seen the very first Island where you start and a part of the big island.

Graphics are always better, but usually also the controls, and there's the editor, online... Clearly the PC version deserves a proper article. In fact, most of the purchaser will be mainly PC users, maybe.

I enjoy it greatly. Has a great feel to the combat. Its more atmospheric than ArmA 2 and a bit more gamey, but it feels more natural than ArmA 2. I like it quite a bit.

Yea, I'm just curious to why no PC review yet. That's the one I care about--not the darn console versions.

Meh, the publisher stole the name from the devs. The publisher gave the original devs a very bad deal so they switched, the original team had nothing to do with the sequal.
