After selling my GBA earlier this year, I've decided that I do need a compatent replacement. However Im torn between two systems; Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Now I have to say Im a loyal Sony Fan, I don't think I should be so stubborn when It comes to Handhelds though, I mean It really 'is' all about the games. You want quick, fun and exciting Games, that will entertain on a break or in bed unwinding.

So If any Users could give me some help on decided Id be grateful! :)

i suggest PSP, it doesn't have as much games as DS but it has better games overall. also PSP can do alot of multimedia features, and connect to PS3 if u ever get one. but if u want simple games and don't care mcuh about graphics and don't need multimedia features get DS.

psp=ps1 combined with ps2 on a very small screen.

ds=2.5d nintendo with LOTS of Mario.

DS Lite is more suited to portable gaming. Tthe games, the battery life, the size, the loading times, etc.

Look at the games you want. That's what really matters. I could say a lot of things, like how the control layouts are, or load times, or uniqueness, all of which I give the edge to the DS on, but if the DS doesn't have the games you want to play, then no reason to get it, right? One thing to keep in mind, though, is if you have some GBA games left over you want to play, the DS is backward compatible with the GBA.

The DS is really better for handheld games. The PSP is more like a portable PS2, only with worse controls/graphics and a smaller library. Console games don't work that well on the go.

DS Lite is the best handheld on the market at the moment.

The PSP is not a very good device, Load times are poor on most games, The battery is very poor and runs out fast, It is alot harder to carry around because of it's size.

I don't like the PSP as much as the DS, but I still consider PSP is still a handheld system because it can play games and download games.

They both have great games. If you still own GBA games, I'd advise the DS first, but the PSP also has some pretty good games. I'd get both, if I were you. It a matter of opinion. What kind of games do you like?

After selling my GBA earlier this year, I've decided that I do need a compatent replacement. However Im torn between two systems; Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Now I have to say Im a loyal Sony Fan, I don't think I should be so stubborn when It comes to Handhelds though, I mean It really 'is' all about the games. You want quick, fun and exciting Games, that will entertain on a break or in bed unwinding.

So If any Users could give me some help on decided Id be grateful! :)

Your loss I guess. There's a big Japanese import market which is brimming with fantastic games if you are willing to ship them in. Like the newly released Hiite Utaeru DS Guitar M-06.

How is that my loss? Just because I don't like a certain type of game automatically means I'm missing out on something big and meaningful? I like rhythm games for consoles and arcades, but I don't think they were meant for handhelds.

I have a DS and I am very very happy with it.

If you already have a PS2, and I assume you do since you say you are a Sony fan, then I don't really think you should bother with the PSP. You probably have all it's games in PS2 form anyway.

Get a DS and you will have a good mixture. Then whatever new home console you have, or are planning to get, will complement it nicely...
