no and never will. plays the same as soul calibur 3 and the graphics are underwhelming. not to mention they depend on 2 star wars characters ( that they can't even do properly) to increase the games appeal.
I am sick of being bombarded by adds of this game all the time so I'll never buy it . This will probably end up like GTA getting a high score and being overrated.
I despise the Star Wars characters in the game and think they are a horrible addition. Completely takes me out of the mode when I jump from classic SC stages to Star Wars stage and have to fight one of those characters.
Other than that, I like it :D
I got Premium edition for 30$ so I am really enjoying it :P
I'm disappointed by the game. This was to be my first foray back into fighting games, but I just don't "get" this one. Yes, I suck at this game. It seems to me that the big thing is knocking someone around so you can juggle them, then get some powerful attacks when they're on the ground, and another attack when they're getting up, and.. I don't know how to describe. But a lot of juggles and stuff as opposed to standing combos and counters and such. It seems like an odd fighting system that I don't find as interesting as DoA 4 (I suck at that game too, but at least I understand it.. more or less), UMK3, Street Fighter (any of them), etc.
Right now I'm regretting my purchase, but I think I'll stick with one character and learn a bunch of the moves and see if I can start figuring it out.
The pluses are.. presentation, music, environments, announcer (I love that guy), and the online seems to be rather stable.. no noticeable lag.
Negatives.. training mode is terrible.. if they want to get new people into the franchise, why do they skimp on this? Pretty much every fighting game dev seems to neglect any proper training mode to prepare you for real players :) Story mode can be finished in 10 mins.. enemy AI is terrible (on normal). I breezed through the game once through with any knowledge of how to play the game. Try doing that with MK II...

The only one bothering me is yoda... It's unfair we can grab him nor use our "high" attacks... I though the apprentice was cool though...
I'm going to... see what my decision is byt he end of the week.
I don't know if I want the PS3 or 360 version yet....
However I look forward to SC online... I just can't say I feel like I should rush to this one yet though... I'm waiting to decide if I get the PS3 version or 360. (Depends on which version my friends buy...)
I think the Star Wars characters are a horrible and unnecessary gimmick, much like Spartans in DOA. It's a shame, because the game seems to be easily good enough to stand on it's own merits, rather than needing pointless star wars hooks.Ninja-Hippo
At least the Spartan didn't show up in single player mode...
Oh and I hate the Apprentice the most, that move where he pulls you foward is cheap and lame, you are unable to move for 1 second leaving you open to a lot of attacks since he can juggle you in the air, then on the ground again.
I think it is awesome. Finally a fighting game that feels kind of current. The new characters are kind of imbalanced, but they are freaking fun. I had no idea how much I would like using Vader and the Apprentice.
The animation is just top notch. There are a ton of characters to try out, lots of variations on each of them, as well as costume changes, weapon changes, upgrades, create your own character. All of the stages look gorgeous, as does the eye candy. I don't even want to think about how much time they put into the boob physics in this game. :P Online is stable. The install to the HD on the PS3 actually made a noticeable difference. Load times are almost nonexistent with an install.
Yeah, best fighting game out this gen so far. Definitely will hold you over until MK vs DC, Tekken 6, SFIV... I highly recommend it if you're into fighters and especially if you can wrangle up a few buddies and pass the controller around. Nothing is better than face-to-face smack talk after you just destroy someones world with a huge combo by Nightmare.

The Apprentence and the guy right after him gave me a hard time while I was playing as Vader. Everyone else was a breeze but it felt like The Apprentice and Aloga or whatever were set at higher difficulties then normal. I couln't even get one hit in sometimes while fighting the Apprentice.
LOL @ anybody saying this is the best fighter so far this gen. I haven't even played my copy yet and I highly doubt its superior to Virtua Fighter 5. I say this because the inclusion of the SW fighters pretty much birthed cheap and unbalanced gameplay. GoldenGlove
Though the SW characters are cheap, the standard characters are quite balanced, as is the fighting system. I have VF5 and SCIV doesn't measure up to it in terms of depth; but it's more accessible and not as serious. The skill is there too, I mean button-mashers can only go so far.
well i wouldnt say graphics are THAT amazing. VF had better ones. But that;s besides the point. The star wars characters actually turned out to be pretty fun. I'm still figuring out how to use vader's force properly tho:(
But i hate how they nerfed some characters ... like mitsurugi. They changed alot of his moveset properties. Oh well, at least siegfried is still the same. The character creation ... i would like them to have better face models. I don't want my character to look like an ape. I might as well just modify an already existing character. But then again, mayb more options are unlockable.
Apprentice and Algol are godly lol. I think the gameplay became slightly slower. Did any1 else notice?
i was going to get it today...but it was to late...
so i'll get it tomarow, most likely i will enjoy it nicely
Only two guys don't like it. One has never played it and doesn't own and the other is a n00b and gets his ass kicked
Great Success! I love this game

lol, no matter what fighting game it is, if someone doesn't like it, it's all lolol omg noob by the fanboys.
When I first played it today I beat story mode on normal with 4 or 5 people in a row before even dying. This was just purely by jamming buttons randomly. So I wasn't that impressed with the game.
Then, I checked out the create a character mode, unlocked all the buyable fighters, and upgraded a few toons. I was then getting more into it....
Then I hit the tower mode, did fairly well until level 11 or so... then it started to get tougher. Now I am hooked.
Great game!
Pretty good game but I was extremely disappointed by the Story mode. I was expecting an SC2 style Story Mode where you're on a map and you progress by fighting more. Oh well, at least the Tower of Lost Souls (is that what it's called? I forgot) is pretty addictive, I'm on Lair 30 something right now and very fun!! But it gets way too damn hard at parts. Just a heads-up warning for a lot of you who are wanting to play the Tower.
Re-hash with ugly graphics. If this trash outscored VF5 and DOA4 I'll be sooo pissed.AtrumReginaHave you played the game? As for VF5 its a great fighter love the gameplay but hate the characters. DOA is nothing but very overrated button masher IMO.
The game is fantastic , beautiful , awesome , gorgeous 10/10 for a fighting game , best i played in a loooooooooong time.XxSTILL_BORNxXand I would agree bro.

So you bash people that call it the best fighting game, but you already have made up your mind before you even play the game. That makes perfect sense
Dude...no offense but just ecause you're not good at it doesn't mean it's disappointing. All fighting games you'll NEVER be prepared for just by training modes. The real way to learn is by playing (and losing) and learning from your mistakes. That's how we all learn. NO ONE'S good right from the gate, you have to put the time in to really understand what's new, what works, doesn't work, etc. Patience is a virtue.........I'm disappointed by the game.
