Opinions: What Game Has the Best Boss Fights?

That one. There is really no way around it for me. All of the boss fights were unique from one another, and all of them were intense as all hell. The final Shagohad battle is better labeled as of the best moments in video games rather then best boss fights.The runner up is definitely this little number:

I thought Resident Evil 4 had pretty bad boss battles.

I think the Metroid Prime games have some really awesome boss battles.

3D era its a 3 way Tie between Metal Gear Solid 1, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and Metroid Prime 3

2D era its Super Metroid.

Franchise with the best Boss Fights it is Metroid.

BAM! A game where the boss fights are so amazing, they didn't even bother putting enemies in between!

Ninja Gaiden Black without a doubt.

Shadow of the colossus is great too due to the sheer scale. The Legend of Zelda OOT was great for it's generation but looking back, the boss battles were too easy for my taste

he wasnt a real boss but boy is he tough nut to crack

The perfect boss battle for me should posses a good mix of challenge, presentation, and indulgence. With these criterias, I'd have to say that SoTC and God of War has hands down some of the best bosses of recent times. The bosses in both games gave me a feeling of awe and provided a very epic experience.

1- THe whole game was boss battles
2- Those bosses were amazing in the sense that they were a giant puzzles. In a way they were more giant puzzles than boss battles.
3- Games like Metroid Prime 3, Ocarina of Time, MGS while did have puzzle like bosses, a good portion of those boss fights were far more challanging and more action oriented and intense.

SOTC is an amazing game, but saying its the king of boss fights might be overrating it.

I enjoyed them a lot. However, the formula for defeating them was stretched across most of the battles.

I wouldn't say it has the "best" boss battles of all-time (they were much too easy),but the bosses in Twilight Princess felt absolutely epic.
