Games like uncharted,skyrim,bioshock and batman were the kings of the show. Also keep in mind there was an invite only demo shown to the gaming press that we knew nothing about. That demo apparently blew everything away. Uncharted 3 now is standing with 20 best of show nominations and more to come.
Naughty Dog is one of the best developers this generation. Was there really ever any doubt? They took a new IP in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and both improved and expanded upon it, creating Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the 4th highest Metacritic rated game this generation behind only the Galaxy games and Grand Theft Auto 4. I never had any doubt that Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception would follow suit. The guys at EPIC games are good and all, but Gears of War 2 wasn't much of an improvement over GeoW 1, and GeoW 3 looks to be not much of an improvement either. You guys have to remember how talented the development team at Naughty Dog is, they're literally a full step above EPIC games, and I would say only really rivaled by Miyamoto and Rockstar.
I never had any doubt that Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception would follow suit.

It hasn't yet - just saying the game hasn't been released yet. Do I expect less from #3 than what was present in #2? No. But the game is still in development.
While I agree that having OPM award the game best of E3 takes away from the credibility a bit, I think it is foolish to think that the only place that would give it best of E3 is a Playstation magazine. We're talking about Naughty Dog here, makers of Uncharted 2, 6th highest rated video game of all time. Uncharted is a new IP to this generation, and while the first game was great, Uncharted 2 was basically an improvement in every way. In a generation filled with sequels, you'd be hard pressed to find many sequels that were as much of an improvement over their predecessors as Uncharted 2 was to Uncharted 1. It really shouldn't be any surprise to anyone that Uncharted 3 will be an improvement over Uncharted 2, and quite possibly a big improvement. If it is, make way for one of if not the highest rated game of all time. Watch out Ocarina of Time.
E3 actually carry quite a bit of weight in the media community. One, they generate positive word of mouth for your game, and second is a likely indicator that your game will be a success on a critical level.

The predecessor to Uncharted 3 scored significantly higher critically than any of the predecessors to the other games you listed. Naughty Dog has shown bigger improvements with their sequels than almost every other developer this generation. Explain to me how Uncharted 3 has no chance to win GOTY.

How come we didnt get to see the part OPM was talking about with Elena and Drake chasing a massive twin-engine jet down a runway that culminated in a spectacular back-and-forth mid-air fistfight in an open cargo hold. I wanted to see that damn naughty dog you should of shown that.

Care to point out where? I implied with my post that the idea of "Uncharted 3 will be GOTY" is ridiculous to determine at this point considering the strong holiday lineup.

I don't know how they are now, but I do remember years back they were the most trust-worthy of all the console branded mags. The scores they gave Sony games usually lined up with the average and sometimes even fell below the average metascore. I even remember one time reading the editors page and he was gushing about how much hes been enjoying Halo on XBL... in a freakin Playstation magazine. I thought that was pretty awesome.
