I still have the original CoD installed on my computer, I'll skip this one. Nice that they are bringing to consoles though.

It's not a class-based team shooter.

They have too, that's the only way it will sell, CoD's are not very known for there SP until 4, there decent, but skimping out on Mp would be cutting half of the package.

Which is too much. It should be no more than $10 really...unless they put the United Offensive expansion in with it.
EDIT: I can't wait for people who haven't played the origonal Call of Duty, and only the fourth one to go "OMG Infinity Ward are lame why are meh healths not regenerating! H@X!" "WHERE is teh m16?" "I can't haz Juggernaut? Dis game is trash!" LOL.

Ya but not alot. The game is pretty old now.

Are you serious? The Single - Player was arguably the BEST part of Call of Duty, it blew 4's campaign out of the water. Nothing beats the Stalingrad battle, noting.

It was good but nothing to write home about, it was decent but once it was over it was over..that's it...MP was the ONLY THING that kept that game lasting as long as it did..if it wasn't for MP CoD would not have been the AAA franchise it is today. And i agree 4's was terribad, CoD 1 and 2 blew it out of the water, but the real meat and potatoes is the MP.[QUOTE="DarkGamer007"][QUOTE="Pinkyimp"] They have too, that's the only way it will sell, CoD's are not very known for there SP until 4, there decent, but skimping out on Mp would be cutting half of the package.Pinkyimp

RO is great, but CoD is much more fun, i know everyone has there own kinds of fun, but back then CoD was like the Quake 3 of the decade. the MP had tons of people who had amazing skill. And the game is super old so of course the graphics are terrible, but im sure IW fixed em up for the Arcade release.
Sometimes i wish i could go back to when that game was release again..great times.
hmm, sounds interesting...really depends on the price. i never played the PC version, but the craptastic PS2 port (i think it was called CoD: Finest Hour or something)
scratch that, i dont think it was a port, but a different game
Yeah Finest hour was garbage, I put time into its SP and i couldn't beat the game because it was so damn hard. No Healthpacks, low health and checkpoints are miles away from each other.
that truely was the hardest FPS ive played, not because it was hard, but because the game made it so damn difficult.

I can't wait for none of that to happen. I love how the only major change you mentioned was the regenerating health packs. By the way, I'm sure the same crowd played Halo 1. Call of Duty sucks. I don't want to play this.[QUOTE="DarkGamer007"][QUOTE="Pinkyimp"] Day one, CoD was great, and hopefully the online is intact as well...ill show these noobs how to do it. Call of Duty sucks. I don't want to play this.Yeah but Halo: Combat Evolved had shields that could regenerate so even if you were on your last piece of health, you could still take a few bullets, duck behind a rock and be just fine. You can't do that in the origonal Call of Duty, you have to actually think about what you are going to do instead of running around like a chicken with its head cut off because one good shot from a Sniper, and you will have about 5% health left, and the only way to get more is to kill people and pick up 25% health packs from their corpse. The overall pace of the game was a bit slower paced as well, and the greandes were less effect (you couldn't cook them unless you had a mod installed that allowed you to do so, and you had to first equip them to use them.) Aiming in the game also took a great deal more skill because you couldn't slap a Red Dot or Scope on your weapon like you can in the Fourth Call of Duty, you had to use the sights on the weapon, which isn't as easy as a Red Dot or Scope. Melee attacks were also not one hit kills (nor did they have the lunge attached to them). In Call of Duty, you couldn't shoot through walls making it harder to hit opponents and effectively "spray and pary". Weapons also had different firing modes (I hope this along with the lean function is still intact), so you could have a Thompson and have it either Semi-Auto for greater accuracy but a slower firing rate, or Automatic for a decreased accuracy, and a higher firing rate. Then there was also the lean feature as I stated earlier that allowed you to poke around corners and shoot without fully expossing yourself, which allowed to hold points more effectivley while giving you some extra cover.

yeah that game was a real *****. i was young when i bought it too, so i was absolutely terrible at the game. Damn the russian campaign, it was freakin impossible.
If they allowed for the United Offensive expansion pack to be DLC, that'd be just freaking amazing. UO was the only good thing Treyarch did for the CoD franchise. The singleplayer of it was epic and the new multiplayer maps/features just added to the already massive pile of greatness. I have so many good memories of playing on Foy...

Yeah, but you can cook grenades in real life. That's part of their utility. Grenade indicators are for little girls. Regenerating health is crap and makes sniping impossible with the low stopping power they usually have in most "mainstream" games, so alls you gotta do is find cover and you're peachy, which is damned easy when you're 200 yards away from your target in a field littered with trucks and sandbags. Ridiculous. As far as red dots....just stop. Yeah, they're nice, but they have no magnification and it's the same damn thing as irons. If you can't take somebody out with irons, play more. Melee attacks in the new COD's definitely need to be changed, makes it a noob fest. As far as shooting through walls, again, you can do it in real life, I don't see the big deal. That's the one thing I see as the greatest limitation to Red Orchestra, because you can get into pitched sniper duels with a guy who's hiding behind two wood planks when in real life your 8 mm Mauser would go right thru and rip the guy's face off. As far as firing modes, big whoop. That COD4 doesn't include them is its own limitation, most games worth their salt will include firing modes, for example Red Orchestra and Insurgency mod for Source. The lean and peak feature I figure was cut as a consolation (lol I made a pun) for your newb boxes, aka consoles. I don't really get your points, sorry bro. IMHO what COD really needs is a serious look at achieving balance (something they decided to ignore after COD2), removing the nubbage features, and the biggest thing for me, free aim. Aside from that, Call of Duty 4 looks like butt on consoles due to its poor image quality and they should fix that at the expense of some of the other features, like blur or self-shadowing, because I don't give a damn about that. I want to be able to see my targets, is that too much to ask? Please Log In to post.
