Out of all the GOTY's given by GameSpot over the past decade...

Which one do you disagree with the most? Here's a handy-dandy list for reference.

2000: Chrono Cross (PS1) and The Sims (PC)

2001: Grand Theft Auto III (PS2) and Serious Sam: The First Encounter (PC) (lol wut)

2002: Metroid Prime (GC)

2003: The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker (GC)

2004: World of Warcraft (PC)

2005: Resident Evil 4 (GC)

2006: Gears of War (Xbox 360)

2007: Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

2008: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)

2009: Demon's Souls (PS3)

For me, I really have to disagree with GeOW as GOTY for 2006. Sure, it's a great game, but in the face of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which was the largest, most-expansive, cinematic, and magnificent 3D Zelda game to date (take that, OoT fanboys), it's really no contest. TP deserved GOTY for 2006. Multiple sources agree.

WoW (a terrible game and a terrible MMO, there are far better) and MGS4 (ungodly overrated movie game)

I also don't really agree with demons souls.

Demon Soul's easily. I despised that game thought it was average and boring. I couldn't stand playing it for more than 4 hours. All the other games I adored on that list. I would probably have given it to uncharted 2 among thieves. Thought that game was top 5 for me this generation. The lack of halo combat evolved kind of sucks but gta 3 deserved it over tbh

Serious Sam (Shouldnt even be mentioned in the same breath as GTA3) and Chrono Cross (In 2000 we had Deus Ex, Perfect Dark, Diablo 2, Pokemon Gold and Silver, LOZ MM, FF9, Banjo Tooie, The Longest Journey, and if anything Chrono Cross shouldn't be on there and The Sims should've just won it) I mean seeing Chrono Cross win it just makes me shake my head and wonder what GS was smoking.

2000: Chrono Cross is an excellent game but either Final Fantasy IX or Majora's Mask should have won. However, The Sims is a good pick.

2002: agreed

2003: Either Windwaker and/or KOTOR are great picks (stalemate) so I agree.

2004: I would have picked Half-Life 2 but that's only because I don't like MMO's.

2005: agreed

2006: Either TP or Okami should have won that year and not GeOW.

2007: agreed

2008: My personal GOTY would have been SMT: Persona 4.

2009: have not played enough 09 games to pick a GOTY.

Back in '04 many many people were outraged over Windwaker getting GOTY...they thought KOTOR got robbed.

'06 should have gone to Okami, or Twilight Princess, not Gears of War.

01. That was a great year.

Don't forget Super Smash Bros. Melee, Rogue Squadron 2, Capcom vs SNK 2 and Gran Turismo 3.

04 was a little bit better but both years were great.

I don't know why people think TP deserved it, it tread no new ground, was merely OK compared to other Zelda games, boring wolf parts, lost most of the charm the series is known for, and had tacked on motion controls, very not worthy, Okami was a much better game than TP.Im_single

I actually really am disagreeing with Demon SOuls being a winner right now, I suppose ID rather have PD over Chrono Cross too, but I dont feel that is as ridiculously strange as the fact that Demon Souls beat out Uncharted 2.

While the topic of Twilight Princess is up,I've only played two of the games nominated for GotY 2006,Twilight Princess and Bully,and honestly,out of those two,I probably would have given Bully the upper hand.Still need to play the other games.

This is not only incorrect but filled with so many assumptions and fanboyish rage that I just had to lol. Yes, WoW is truly the only american made MMO in history.

Demons Souls for sure. I just think the game is ridiculously overrated and seems like it was picked as statement against casual players that hardcore punishing games are still on top, instead of the games quality. I honestly dont see how they chose it over UC2, KZ2, FM3, MW2, and Arkham Asylum. But oh well. It's their choice. And everyone has their own tastes.

Funny, I see it the exact opposite way. I rented and beat UC2 in 4 days - no need to play it again. I'm still playing DS almost every day, raiding other people as a Black Phantom. I lose more than I win, but its addictive and I love it. DS is the best game to come out in years, IMO.

As far as disagreeing with past GotY's, I thought Gears of War and MGS4 were both pretty lame, but I can't think of anything better right now for their respective years...

06 was the weakest year in gaming, so I have no problem with GeoW winning.
