The only reason why I bought the original Gameboy was to play Pokemon Red. I don't beleive I own any other games for it besides that.
Funny though I think it was worth it.

Same here. I have yet to find a suitable competitor to Pokemon Red's place in my heart.
probably orig. Xbox, back then, i was a cow/sheep/hermit. and i HATED M$ for even trying to make a system, i would talk bad about it like crazy. then one day i desied to see what all the hype was about and rented the system and halo
i baught it the next week....
I was once a SERIOUS 360 fanboy. Nothing on PS3 caught my attention. I always had the mind set that EVERYTHING would eventually be on 360. Suddenly doing E3 2007 after giving a huge meh to Uncharted, and Heavenly Sword. I saw Ratchet and Clank, and that game alone caused me to eventually get a PS3. I'm a huge R&C mark. I've played them all. If it weren't for that game, I still probably wouldn't have a PS3.SnakePS360Gamer
I was kindof the same way lol except with your consoles swapped. I had been set on getting a PS3 but then ultimately decided on the 360 with a little help from a friend talking good things about it. Good choice in the end. It would be nice to own a PS3 for a few exclusives that are out now and for some that will be released later on.
HAHA i bought a gameboy color for pokemon too, everyone played it at summer camp. The only reason why I bought the original Gameboy was to play Pokemon Red. I don't beleive I own any other games for it besides that.

Bought a PS3 solely for Blu-Ray, then the POS broke on me.
Sony won't be getting a purchase from me in a LONG time.

The first time I read that, I thought POS stood for "Post option service?"
... Funny. :P

I have a sudden urge to go out and buy the GBA remake.
Super Mario Galaxy looked like fun, so I bought a Wii.
Blu-Ray outlasted HD-DVD, so I purchased a Playstation 3.
I wanted to play video games, so I bought an Xbox 360.

Well i never actually bought a system because my family gets them at launch for every system(yes im spoiled) But the reason i usually want a system that i dont already love(sony) is because the feel of having something new.

I don't believe that's possible. Those games (in my case was Pokemon Blue) left an unmatchable mark.
I was doing a clinical research (read human guinea pig) test spread over 4 weekends, come week 2 I was throwing up everywhere so missed a week and faced doing the last week on my own, a whole hospital ward to myself... so I bought a Gameboy and Mario Golf to stop me going stir crazy.
The most stupid and insane reason I can think of for buying a console is that is has "potential" to be a great system, guven the right circumstances I can "potentially" become King of England but its not going to happen... I bought my games consoles to play games on, not to have them there waiting for a "potentially" great game somewhere down the line.
I don't think I've ever bought a console for an "outrageous" reason.
I always research the console I buy.
For example I'm getting a 360 today after waiting for this year to end and reseraching its library and guessing when it would get another price drop, luckily, it happened sooner than I thought.
[QUOTE="Snugenz"]I initially bought my PS3 for FFXIII, loldaftdog
LOL what year is it dude?
 And it was a 60gig model (€600)
What can i say i was down buying a new Bravia TV and i saw the PS3 and potentially epic exclusive FFXIII and made an shamefully impulsive buy.
In saying that though, i really dont regret buying it, even if the primary reason i did buy it is gone.

Absolutely loving it, we've also got a Samsung (40" 720p) in the house and both are great but the Bravia (42" 1080p) wins easily, cost alot more though. :P

Yeah i never really thought about Bravia at the time i was addicted to the sleek design of the Samsung lol. Yeah but am sure the extra money was worth it, i hire my TV so might swap for a Bravia and just pay extra each month what you think? Is it worth it?

I'd say definitely, there is nothing i dont like about the Bravia and combined with a PS3 or 360 (both HDMI) its just amazing. Plus it supports 1080/24p, so its perfect if you're a HD movie buff. ;)

No prob, hope you enjoy whatever TV you choose, ;)
After owning an origional xbox, and being a bit let down by it, I decided I would turn to sony and get a PS3 as I wanted the console with the best graphics and just assumed that I would get used to the different games. I decided to wait for a while for the price to come down but then I came across an xbox 360 premium being sold on ebay for £180, I was bored and decided it was the best way to use my interest free student overdraft...got RRoD after 3 monthes.
Because after walking into stores and asking if Wii was available and being told no for about a year, though I really kinda sorta lol didn't really want one anymore I stuck my head into a local Gamestop and asked and much to my surprise they said yes, we have just one do you want it to which I just had to say yes.
About $500.00 later with controllers, wired Ethernet adapter and a few games, I have had some fun with it but really, I would have been just fine without one at this point.
