Overwatch Coming to Consoles?

It looks like, just like with Diablo 3, Blizzard will be launching Overwatch on consoles. From the source code of the EU Overwatch site:

Did many people ever talk about Overwatch here?

When the trailer came out and when some gameplay came out....hermits were all up Overwatch's butt.

And it's different b/c hermits are on auto pilot when it comes to these things.

As soon as this is confirmed....hermits will scream about it being a crappy consolized game and all that crap. It doesn't really work the other way around.

Console gamers really don't complain about games being PCized or whatever.

PC exclusive or not, its still going to bomb.

Either it's fake or Blizzard removed the reference. Just checked the source code of the website they linked from a twitter (source) and it was nowhere to be found.

Seems like that's the case. Still won't be surprised if it comes to Consoles though but I don't think they'll announce the game for the boxes yet. Blizzard's fanbase is on PC. They'll first take all the money they can get from PC crowd before bringing it to Consoles with different mechanics like Diablo 3.

I am betting it will come out for consoles. Why limit yourself if you do not have to, though there will be a extra cost of having to separate consoles from pc crowed.

Meh. Far more interested in PvZ:GW 2 for my team based shooter fix (granted, one is FSP the other TPS).

I'm looking forward to the beta. I like how many characters there are to choose from.

I said ages ago on in these forums it looked like a console game. Huge guns taking up half the screen and not many of the weapons seem to require any accuracy skill from what I have seen of it. So far, everything is hype for this game just like it was with Titanfall.

I thought it looked like it could be fun. I'm not all that interested in it but I'll keep watch for it.

For some reason I though it already was in the first place...

Actually we've known for quite some time that its on the cards...

try again.... we don't expect another Exclusive from blizzard unless its a genre that doesn't work on a controller... pretty common knowledge.

@pelvist none of that means a console game ... given the project was originally an FPS MMO ... it's just Team Fortress style, with more enphasics on class abilities than raw aiming skill (still important for many classes) ... by all accounts a TF2 / MOBA hybrid. Still looks pretty "Twitchy".

I wouldn't mind it being another Titanfall... the "Gamers" have proven they don't want good gameplay by shunning Titanfall and support Star Wars battlefront ... so im not suprised anymore.

Overwatch looks great. the next step in what Team Fortress 2 started alone .... classed based shooters that mean more than flipping "what samey gun, perk and grenade do you throw?".... and objective modes where "Team Slayer" is not the be-all-end all of the genre.

I don't normally promote Gamespot content ... but Danny's Overwatch Video sums it up perfectly (currently on main page) how I feel about the game... great quality... more enpahsis on team-play over solo-aim skill .... looks pretty damn good... not sure where this skepticle dislike of the game is coming from... if you like PROPER class based shooters of old... with Blizzards charm/polish... whats to dislike?

Blizzard says this about all their games lately. HotS also was supposedly coming to console too. Be cool if they both did, considering how slow Blizzard is I wouldn't hold my breath for the console versions.

There will be FOV option to fix huge guns and I like its different approach towards competitive multiplayer (more variety in classes with different skills, rather than run and gun). I wasn't interested in the game much when they announced it last year but more I saw, the more I liked.

I still think Overwatch excellent, even after these rumors.

I still think Reaper of Souls(D3) is excellent.

I still think Witcher series is excellent.

Just like console fans can think MGS/Souls is excellent. Losing exclusivity doesn't make a game bad.

I just hope this game receives true and continued support for consoles, unlike Diablo3, TF2, CSGO, L4D, etc. which see reduced updates, poor patches, and considerably less features.

Good stuff (if true) and highly expected.

All games, where possible and are not adversely affected by being on different systems, should be multi-platform. The more people who can play any game, the better. Don't be sucked into being a company lap dog with exclusivity bullshit, there is no benefit to gamers from exclusive titles being exclusive for the sake of selling hardware.
