These are all little nitpicks and personal preferences, more than anything. It's very clear that Blizzard has put in a herculean effort into polishing Overwatch, making sure that it feels great to play, has basically no bugs or glitches, and has a solid amount of content.

Just as Team Fortress 2 burst onto the scene and captivated so many with its charm, and accessible gameplay, Overwatch is poised to do the same with its sharp gameplay and likable characters. There’s little doubt that the next great class-based shooter has arrived.

Naturally, I need to spend more time with Overwatch before I give it a final score. I'm having a blast with it now; but it's only been out a few hours (in addition to the open beta), and there's still plenty of time for its weaknesses to become apparent. But for now... wow. It sure seems like Blizzard has another mega hit on their hands.

Truly, I believe that we'll be seeing a lot more of Overwatch in the years to come. Blizzard has a great track record when it comes to long-term support, and given how good it is out of the gate, it can only get better from here. Blizzard has truly snatched victory from the draws of defeat.

The game seems great fun- it's definitely something I plan on picking up soon.

It's honestly the most fun I've had with a shooter in quite a few years. I got it for free on Xbox One and plan on buying it for PC soon as well. It's definitely earned the reviews it's garnered so far.

The ONLY qualm I have with it is that it can be a little easy for the other team to spawn camp, depending on the mode that you're playing.

The actual game (Doom) which deserve 10 didnot got but this cartoonish crap with no SP (which is rip off) getting 100. great

It looks fun in all seriousness. I trolled in the Hype thread but definitely see the quality in it.

Only unlike Doom, this will have a pretty high player count for years and years to come, be constantly updated with full content, and be a dominant E-sports title.

Doom is great, but it's no Overwatch.

Most overrated game of 2016 so far, game should be named overrated and not overwatch.

Never heard of Opencritic, but for me this is an incredible game. Played a few hours yesterday, tried a few characters.....the Gameplay is very polished basically, that's what immediately jumped at me.

Dont feel like making a large post now but in terms of polish and how the gameplay feels, its a 10/10 for me....which is how I feel about Halo 5 as well.

I'll need to play a lot more to determine the game's longevity, something which these reviews probably cannot really assess considering the short turnaround time they have to submit their reviews.

Doom is badass violent gory shooter while overwatch looks like FPS made for little kids and biggest problem is no SP yet selling it on FULL PRICE!!! THAT IS RIP OFF.

its not really that great. i found a few of the character greatly over powered...balance has been a plague for Blizzard for a long time now.

it was also repetitive as shit.

highest skillcap tank imo. Quick 180* to shield the correct team member right b4 missile or even sniper hits, all while direct- tracing the targeting with primary attack.

You're the one who said DOOM 1st here and you're shocked?

Doom has great SP, but its MP is awful.

Overwatch is actually fun MP.

I don't think you've played Doom yet, so how can you compare it to Overwatch? Overwatch brings something different to multiplayer FPS scene which is flooding with loadout based gameplay, and same old pew pew gameplay.

This game is giving us 21 characters on launch and all of them play differently. You like big guns? There is character for you. You like to fight with swords? Overwatch has got you covered. You want to use a bow? Go ahead.

And the game doesn't cost full price on PC. Most AAA PC games, with both Single Player and Multiplayer these days cost 60$. Overwatch on PC is 40$, so it's not a full priced game at all.

You can get 60$ version as well if you want extra skins and bonuses but those aren't necessary, unless you are playing it on Consoles, where there is no 40$ package, as far as I know. In the era of F2P, Overwatch is a breath of fresh air, that is giving you 21 well balanced characters on launch and Blizzard will release free maps and characters post launch as well.

This is next big thing in Multiplayer world and will be played for several years to come just like any game from Blizzard. If you don't like MP games, then fine, but don't bash a quality product. Speaking of quality product,,, Blizzard move your ass and start developing Warcraft 4 already.

@DragonfireXZ95: I agree with that, thats whats making me want to play Doom so much. Ive been playing so many multiplayer online games, i miss that single player focus. Its good to switch it up.

It doesn't bring anything new.

It does what Blizzard does best. Takes other innovations and improves upon them.

The day there's a true new gem TrIves game then I'll say there's something new in the multiplayer arena.

It obviously wont last but that´s still pretty good.

I agree, OpenCritic is great.

I wouldnt worry about that. It dont have no where near the amount of 1s Star Fox Zero got and that game barely sold.

Having cartoony looking characters is a negative? How? Unreal Tournament will be great but how that makes Overwatch inferior? Both are completely different type of multiplayer experiences. Unreal Tournament is all about shooting one another and being very good at it.

Overwatch offers more variety in gameplay by giving you several different tools to defeat your opponents. I'm glad Blizzard went with more Pixar look than grey looking environments. It looks different than most other shooters out there.

What's difference between OpenCritic and Metacritic?

It will be interesting to see all the salt from cows if it stays higher scored overall than UC4. :P

I guess there is also the Blizzard tax. Blizzard is a beloved studio among critics.

Sure as hell better than another slow paced yearly military shooter being the dominant mp release.

Overwatch, Unreal, and Lawbreakres were needed.

There´s quite a few angles you can pursue with that but to me,the far superior site presentation and reviews being all on the same level of importance for the scale unlike metacritic,wich has an undisclosed system in wich it gives sites/mags different degrees of importance as they see fit(meaning a 9 from one outlet can be worth more than a 9 from another) are the most important to me.

Besides,its a gaming only focused aggregator and completely non corporate,unlike mc.

What the hell is opencritic anyways? Never heard of it.

I played the BETA and did not like the game at all, was going to buy it too but glad I tried it out first. However there is no doubt that the game had Blizzard's polish all over it, and I am glad it is getting praised. Completely worth the $40 price, crazy that people are complaining about that price for this much polish.

But objective based team shooter is not my type of game apparently.

It being different than a yearly military shooter release is besides the point.

And that still doesn't mean it's innovative or not overrated.

You don't need to be innovative to be a good game, 99% of high scoring releases are this way.

Just look at UC4, it has no innovation and probably less than 6 hours of actual player controlled time.
