Owlboy is coming out today on PC. It looks nice (91/100 on MC) ? 9/10 on Gamespot ?

Owlboy, yet another current gen remaster made by terrible programmers is coming out today on PC. It's a pixel art game that doesnt take advantage of our expensive hardware. But it apparently runs at 27500 Tflops of oculuses and uses DTAA and XTAO technology.

Ok, really. I dunno much about it other than it's getting rave reviews. So read up on it.

Looks like a product of bad programmers who are obviously schmucks that nobody has heard of. In short, a PC game.

This game has been in development forever!!!! Jeeze I remember being excited about this in like 2008.

So if anyone else is wondering how the hell you could work on a single project for 10 years, especially as an indie studio:

• 5 man team: art director, 2 programmers, designer, and composer

• They were enamored by Mario's Tanooki suit in Super Mario Bros 3. The lead's girlfriend suggested the character be an owl.

• Most of it was spent scrapping and recreating the game again to be better than the last iteration.

• They mostly lived with their parents.

• They got a $10,000 check from winning a Norwegian Game Awards for students.

• They got ~$80,000 grant money from the Norwegian government.

• Parents divorced

• House burned down

• They released another game, Savant - Ascent, in 2013 which sold 500,000 copies keeping them alive

• Then finally held a panel at PAX Prime 2016 in Seattle to give their first release date announcement ever in their development history.

I think it looks amazing!

Of course it's not a remaster! We're just poking fun at the judgement bias of "This generation is just remasters" that tends to float around this forum.

Nothing against indy games, but if I wanted to play games that looked and played like that...I would have kept my SNES.
