Not going to happen. 240hz support sure actually reach 240 fps at 4k wont happen. Then Game streaming has its issues from input lag to compression artifacts, and not everyone has fast internet unlimited internet.

I think 4k/60FPS is a more likely target.

Having the most powerful console isn't the winning factor, it's the software exclusive that gives the console an advantage and Xbox One X proves that not even the most powerful console in the world can lead to great sales. Sony can still kill them with hit exclusive titles on PS4 & eventually PS5. Unless the power difference is substantial (which I doubt), the need for a newer next-gen console is not as strong as it was during the 360/PS3 days. The console would have to prove to add some extra dimensional stuff to 3rd party games that the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X cannot do. If it's simply adding 60fps along with the now standard 4K resolution, it won't be catching on with the casuals, who probably don't have the cash to shell out for undoubtedly high price point of the system. MS said they want the most powerful hardware for each generation, sadly though, that's not always going to be the case.

I know Pachter is just an Analyst, he's only doing his job but at the same time, he should know by now a console aiming 4K/240hz is not going to happened.

MS also going to be enterprising Scarlet Cloud for compute. Thats def some positive news as gaming will benefit with the constant upgrading, see more innovative use in games like Crackdown 3 with the tech expanding.

Def. Dont see 4k/240, thats def some marketing jargon like Sony Playing with the words 4k tv gaming/4k gaming tv for the PS4 Pro.

Finally, just what we all know, MS will make sure they have the most powerful box out and the dark horse the streaming/scarlet cloud stuff that sounds like it will leave Sony in the dust tech wise but Sony still has the gaming ip.

It's 4k 30fps for consoles next gen. Anything better is a pipe dream.

PC gaming absolutly does not need help from MS other than Windows. They are horrible in the PC space.

That said, ,my point is when the new xbox comes out EVERYTHING will be more powerful, PC's will be more powerful then they are not, PS4 will be more powerful then it is now, cell phones will be more power, smart phone watches....

Even getting past the raw power required to achieve this, current TVs and most likely TVs for the next 2-3 years won't do 4K/240Hz over HDMI. The target audience will be so small that can achieve 4K/240Hz just a few PC monitors it would be a complete waste of resources.

4K/60 I think will be the target, with powerhouse games going 4K/30Hz

The bandwidth required for 4K 240hz 4:2:2 Chroma Sampling, and 10 bit Color Depth isnt possible with HDMI 2.1, yes I said HDMI 2.1. And HDMI 2.1 isn’t even really out yet

Anyway, Pachter has shown through his work to be as reliable as most pundits on the mainstream news networks. Very unreliable.

If he said next gen, Xbox will support those, I'd say yeah. But the first Xbox of 9th gen, I doubt it comes with those things, definitely not Day 1.
