Pachter's November Sales Forecast

It's NPD week again and time for Wedbush Morgan's analyst Michael Pachter to announce his predictions. He forecasts sales above $1 billion for the month of November, up 24% from last November. He estimates that $770 million will come from new platforms (PS3, Wii, 360, PSP and DS).

His hardware predictions are:

Wii - 950,000
Xbox 360 - 750,000
PS3 - 420,000
PS2 - 485,000
PSP - 650,000
DS - 1,350,000
GBA - 170,000

That would be a HUGE November for the DS. I'd be willing to wager that would be the highest November ever. Even higher than the PS2's best November.

Also, I'd just be shocked in general if that many consoles sold. That's a ton of money poured into hardware. 950,000 Wiis? I know NOA was stockpiling from Japan, but 950,000 is a huge number. I don't know if they stockpiled that much, just to release them in November, when December is actually the bigger month.

The DS is the most amazing sales machine ever. I can't believe the numbers it's putting up.

Ha Ha so true. I think he just sleeps all day then when his boss comes to collect his Reports, he just writes down whatever comes into his head in the last 30 seconds.

I don't think we need predictions for this. Everybody knows the PS3 will always be last place this gen.

even if they aren't month specific it's only 3 months in a quarter.

They have different quarters...And you are using semi biased sources that can be spun slightly (like not including specifics and just include broad facts, like all consoles sold or total revenue).

BTW, Europe and Japan will not make up that large of a deficit, nor adding in other regions.

EDIT: Oh and to those worried about different quarters between MSFT and SNE, don't worry. They have different fiscal year ends, but their quarters line up evenly. INOW, they both have a quarter ending 12/31.
