Palworld reviews are in, but how does it compare to the games that inspired it ( 69 OC, 49 CR )

I'll have to disagree with the critics here.

Palworld is the bomb digity who dat and theyre way out of touch on multiplayer games as usual. And this game has so much potential. Is it as good as Pokemon Acreus, hell no, but it doesn't need to be. It just needs to be a silly braindead multiplayer game that is very relaxing after a hard day of work.

I'm hoping they add a bunch of stuff to this game. Also will be awesome when it comes to the Super Switch at launch.

The game doesn't even run well on Steam Deck, it defaults to low settings, which delivers between 25-35 fps refresh rates. But I'm hoping we'll get a Steam Deck 2 soon so we can start enjoying these games at better settings.

@pclover1980: Its inspired by Acreus's open world Pokemon interactions and capture systems. It doesn't take anything from traditional Pokemon games. Would be cool if they did though, as traditional Pokemon games are the most popular and highest selling ones that gamers love.

They are all games.

Monster Hunter does not have a join code through the main menu. Everything is done within the game after you load in. The system isn't the same at all.

Elden Ring has no loading screens until you fast travel or die. Even the dungeons are not instanced so to speak.

And tons of games use building mechanics, so are all of those games comparable to Fortnite? These comparisons are ridiculous and nonsensical.

All of the things you wrote make zero sense to people that have actually played the game.

I don't get the reviews either...it's actually an excellent game so far. Sure there are bugs and such, but it is an alpha release, not even beta. Why are they reviewing alpha release games?? The heck is wrong with the industry.

Well, at least the developers get valuable feedback to make improvements for the final release, whenever that happens.

They are all best on PC.

I imagine a lot of critics, people just a little younger than myself that grew up on Pokemon, probably skewing the reviews a bit lower out of rage or jealousy lol.

I’d agree with the middling scores. Doesn’t look good, loads of visual bugs, somewhat repetitive and nothing original…..but by the Gods its addictive. More than anything the exploration is fun.

It's an addicting gameplay loop for sure, capture pals, build up bases, explore and build up the land, run dungeons, upgrade your pals skills, upgrade bases, explore and aquire more skill points, upgrade/craft your gear, rinse repeat. It's gameplay loop is addicting.

I will agree, graphically it does look like an asset flip, but the gameplay loop is fun and addicting. Which is what's most important. For a studio with an almost non existent budget to work with, they struck gold.

Hope they put those fat bags of money they just made to fix the EA jank and build on the foundation they have currently.
