yesterday i was watching paper mario game play clips on gametrailers and it the concept of changing planes looked really cool but i felt as though i had seen the concept before and today while i was on ign i stumbled across it, the game that paper mario balantly rips off, its called "crush" and its by sega. and they say nintendo is all about "originality"

are you saying the game thats been in development longer ripped off another game? explain how this is a blatant rip off?
i dunno if prior installments of paper mario had plane changing, but either way both games look interesting

this is an rpg/platformer hybrid
crush is a puzzler/platformer

Isn't Super Paper Mario going to be released first? I have no idea which was started first, but it seems likely that Super Paper Mario would have been started first (it was originally set to be released on the Gamecube).

Are you sure because Super Paper Mario was announced last E3, and nobody would believe Super Paper Mario is a rip off of Crush because Super Paper Mario comes out on April 9th, and Crush comes out Q3 2007, so everyone would think Crush is a rip off of Super Paper Mario if what your saying is true.

im saying that the special gameplay feature that allows people to change prespectives is a rip off, also it doesnt matter which one was in production for the longer period of time--it all boils down to teh fact that trailers and clips for Crush were shown was before the clips of paper mario that shows the gameplay element

Hahaha, that's funny, it looks like Crush was just announced this year. So, yah, if anything it ripped of Super Paper Mario.

doesnt matter when it was announced, fact is that crush had vidoes of that gameplay mechanic out way before nintendo showed any video/made any announcements based on the new gameplay mechanic that allows you to shift view ( the ONLY (novel) thing that the game has going for itself)

so because the trailer just came out showing the feature, they JUST implemented it?
you do know this game comes out in like a month right... they've had this feature for longer than you assume just because you just discovered it in this video
i doubt they finished this game and a month prior to release they said HEY LETS RIP OFF SEGAS PSP GAME IDEA AND ADD IT TO THIS ENTIRE GAME WITH ONE MONTH LEFT REMAINING

I agree what a rip off. Nintendo does this kind of thing all the time. Have you seen Super Mario Galaxy? Definitely a complete rip off of Crash Bandicoot. Also Goldeneye 007 was clearly trying to cash in on Killzone's success.

Wrong. Not only is the idea that Nintendo somehow threw in such a huge thing that late in development absurd, a Gamespot preview made 6 months before anyone had even mentioned crush says that Super Paper Mario allowed switching between dimensions.

http://www.gamespot.com/wii/rpg/superpapermario/news.html?sid=6149721&mode=recent

"However, it's not just a 2D side-scroller. The game fuses elements of 2D and 3D gameplay together, shifting back and forth between dimensions."

so tou are saying that they sudendly opted for this gameplay scheme when crush was anounced...this year? when paper mario was planed for game cube and was in the last e3?

i could use the same argument against claims that Sony Home is copying the "Mii"s and XBL and the six axis motion sensitivity and besides, i just thought that this was something cool that id like people to notice

well i cant refute that , as long as they showed it off before and theres proof of it im fine , but i just thought that there were alot of similarities and itll be interesting to see how both games utilize the same concept

sony didn't rip off home
motion sensing on the other hand is a little more debatable, just look back at e3 with what warhawk mentioned shoehorning the controls on 2 weeks before the show
but we cant say nintendo invented motion sensing first either, however we do know when they began taking in interest(when they consumed gyration corp... this was in 2001)
