I haven't bought either but I like PS3's exclusive library way more although I do prefer the 360's superb operating system and imo controller (also the 360 controller seems to be the only one I have ever seen at gaming conventions) but back to the point. If i'm going to spend every bit of my free time getting achievments or trophies I don't want to have to do it it on PS3 and 360 because its way too time consuming but it would be pointless to start another Xbox 360 vs. Playstation 3 thread that only generates more opinions on which console is better so i'm just wondering if either one of these is dominate whether it be slightly or major for 3rd party games.Help me decide what I should do with be unbiased as possible, which I kinda hinted in (no fanboys!) lol.

Is the black text supposed to provide some challenge to reading your OP. I would say its pointless to start a thread were a most of the discussion will be based on your poor text color choice..

when it comes to 3rd party games the 360 offers a wider library than the 360, the differences in terms of performance are similar, just sometimes devs don't bother "understanding" the hardware of the ps3, so you see games like RDR running in sub-hd and graphics sacrifices on the ps3.

also, there are very big games that need multiple discs that are a better fit for ps3, because on the 360 the devs need to cram all that data into dvd's which can only store up to 6.8 gb each.. so sometimes they need to compress all this data in order to put it in 1-2 discs.

Lol, sorry bro. Forgot to change it to white. Just trying to make it easier to read thats all. Idk if i'm the only one that has the problem with getting mixed up on sentences when it's the small normal text.

I prefer 360 for multiplats because of the controller and XBL. Also it doesn't hurt that most multiplats tend to run better or look better.

Thanks for the help bro but I figured it out already from a post on here. You know, it seems like if you do something slighly wrong on here a bunch of little dicks jump on you for it lol. I'm appreciative of the ones who point it out and understand like spaz and you instead of jumping my ass for it.

I buy most of my multiplats on the 360 because more of my friends play online with it and I (much) prefer the controller. The only multiplatform games I've purchased on the PS3 have been ones that were noticeably better - so far that list consists of Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Age, although you could argue Dragon Age runs a little worse on the PS3 despite looking better.

Good point. My nana wants a blue-ray player and I thought it would be a good idea to just get a PS3 that I could play on as well, but if it wasnt for the PS3 having more and better exclusives imo it wouldnt even be a problem choosing but thanks for the info, I can honestly say I agree with you!

I don't think you can make an issue out of the graphics. The difference is hardly noticeable and some games run better on one or the other. Most games run the same on the consoles. Some multiplats even run the same on pc (allthough only a few).

What is right is the controller , i bought the x360 3 years ago because i couldn't afford a pc and i love fps games. With a ps3 controller i wouldn't like em anymore especially when playing multiplayer. The x360 controller surprised , it was actually nice playing fps with this allthough I really prefer mouse and keyboard.

If I could change now I would buy a ps3 because now i have a decent pc and i played all of the x360's exclusives lol. Ps3 has a couple of games i would really like to play. They have a lot of games that score very high. Still If i wouldn't have a decent pc i wouldn't even think about buying a ps3 just for that controller.

Yeah, the PS3 controller is okay for platformers and RPGs and a few other genres, but it's really awful for first person shooters and racing games. Its sticks are too short, have too little resistance, and aren't concave, and the triggers are shaped incorrectly and mushy. The shape can be corrected via Real Triggers (which is the way the controller should have been designed in the first place), but they always remain mushy and consequently terrible for racing.

I've played both more hours of my life than I can name and what i've realized is that niether is dominate it's just what you get used to. I played CoD4 on the PS3 to the gold cross and was high up on the leaderboards until hackers started cheating and I stopped playing but my point is that it doesnt hinder FPS. The DS3 felt like an extension of my hands after playing so much CoD and the controls were the last of my problems but although I can say if I had to choose I would pick the 360's simply because it feels more sturdy, fts my hands better, and I love its triggers a hell of alot better but on the PS3 I just used R1 and R2 instead of my triggers for FPS and what I liked better about that is if I was using a semi-automatic gun I unload a clip twice as fast as compared to the 360 because it's faster clicking a button than pulling a trigger. I also noticed this when I played on expert with the controllers on the old guitar hero. I was too cheap to buy a guitar haha :p

If you like the games that 360 has exclusively for first party and third party (some decent JRPG's and such) then thats about what it is good for. For pretty much everything else PS3 is better IMO. Live is a TAD better (although I don't use the features that makes it better) but not worth the money IMO. I much prefer the PS3 exclusives, hardware, and so on. I am NOT a fanboy, I just don't care for the 360 at all. I have owned every console this gen, and the 360 is the only one I do not own now.

I've owned both myself and I wont use all the features that make Live better besides Netflix but the PS3 has that too now. I just really like the interface better which isnt a good reason to soly buy a console on imo but I do prefer the PS3's exlusives and I would almost buy one just to play Versus which i've been looking forward too since I was still in school lol. So if I like the PS3's games better should I just buy one of them because isnt games the whole reason you have a console?

I agree, except for the fact that I like the PS3's interface a bit better than the 360's. I liked the blade menu the 360 had before, but they changed it to an inverted PS3 menu with bigger more annoying icons and a less customizable look.

True that when I buy something i'm all about customization. I do like how the 360 jacked the Mii's and upgraded them tho so when someone looks at your profile your Mii or whatever the hell they call it now kinda portrays your personality which is cool but I don't want to buy a 360 just for the Mii's lol, and Home is the last thing i'll be interested in haha. It's great that I can make my own avatar but not if I have to go into a virtual world that I have absolutley no interest in.

I don't pay for Live, so I usually get multiplatform games for Playstation 3. That is, unless the Xbox 360 version is noticeably better (Bayonetta, for example).

No, that's just nickpicking they run and look relatively the same on both consoles(exceptions like bayonetta). People are so quick to bring up this subject all the time, then turn around and say graphics don't matter when ps3 exclusives mop the floor with any and every 360 game available.

I owned both at one time and only a PS3 now...but 360 clearly wins that comparison hands down. Few, and I mean few, 3rd party titles are equal for PS3. Some are far worse!Rarely you'll get a better version on PS3, but that's only do to a single disc vs multiples.

Bioshock 2 on PS3 isn't even nearly as quality/good as Bioshock 1 on 360...just saying.

Nah, it's just my opinion that the 360 controller is better overall than the Dual Shock 3. The Dual Shock 3 does have poor analog sticks and the worst triggers found on any console since the Dreamcast. The triggers really have no defense.

360 games tend to have the advantage in graphics and performance. I also prefer 360´s controller but that´s just a metter of opinion.

I don't think quality or performance is really an issue. I have played on the ps3 and to me it's exactly tesame as the x360. I have an X360 myself but i'm a pc-monkey. Like i mentioned before i bought an x360 3 years ago because i couldn't afford a pc that could match the performance of the x360 for the same price.

Anyway i don't know about the ps3 exclusives (i haven't played em ... yet) but a lot of them have monsters scores. I do know one thing. If you like action rpg's You have to play mass effect 1 (which isn't on playstation) and you have to play fable II which isn't on ps3 or pc.

360, the multiplats are practically identical now but usually a small bit better on 360 whether is be a texture, framerate, etc some small thing. Unless there is some extra content/features like DS2 or Portal 2.

360, the multiplats are practically identical now but usually a small bit better on 360 whether is be a texture, framerate, etc some small thing. Unless there is some extra content/features like DS2 or Portal 2.SaltyMeatballs

PS3 for exclusives, 360 for 3rd party games that reside on both 360 and ps3. 360 exlusives are great too but since were talkign games that are 3rd party, it has to be the console those games run best on, mainly the 360.
