(PC Exclusive) WoW: Legion Expansion launches another reason to just stick to gaming on PC?

You get WoW, you get more powerful graphics, you get more ram, and more space. You got bigger communities, tons of people online great communities.

My friend just picked up this game he had been playing a demon hunter all week.

He hasn't been on the console in a long time I think he's about done with it basically. Always see his name on the blizzard friendlist tho. This is gotta stop, consoles need to start getting exclusive games that people wanna log into like this.

Where's the console exclusives at? This another one for PC mark it down on your lists and acknowledge it. PC won again it just did it again.

Great news for WOW fans. Haven't played the game in a long time.

Me either but I might give it a whirl when I get my new PC built everything on high with a new widescreen monitor. Seems like a good game to test all that tech out on and just relax.

Yeah, those super impressive graphics of WoW will be a test for any high end PC. Be sure to get at least 2 GTX 1080s to max it out.

@ProtossRushX: I always felt the need to try each and every wow expansion before for a month or two , but with this one ... Im out.

What do you expect from blizzboys. They exaggerating in every sentence. From super epic WoW graphics to Unique games talking for Overwatch to the best ARPG ever for Diablo 3. Ive heard every single crap you can think of from them.

So far I have gone through 2 zones.

Val'Sarah was rather boring, 4/10. I was also chuckling at how stupid the ending of this zone was.
Stormheim is a lot better but even that is nothing special so far, 6/10. Some parts here drag on for far too long.

Mists of Pandaria for me. Lost interest a bit after The Lich King expansion. I'm huge fan of Arthas.

Yup, you don't need to buy the previous games though, Now it's just Warlord's and Legion, maybe possibly just legion.

Yeah I really liked Vanilla and Wrath of Lich king the best.

Still, with all the competition there is now in the MMO market, most of which are sub free... it's just not like in the days when it was between WOW and Everquest. Just what keeps players paying for this game month after month with so many free alternatives?

Honestly It's still one of the best MMOs on the market, I tried SWTOR, Warhammer Online (actually enjoyed this one), Rift, Aion, Age of Conan, Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2.. a bunch of other no named ones, and WoW is the only one that really has enough content to bring me back. (despite the flop that was WoD)

As for the subscription, if you have a lot of ingame gold you can buy gametime, and pretty much stack it, so if you play the game a lot and know how to make gold, you pretty much play for free.

Sure some of them are deceptively "freemium" and Pay2Win, but you just gotta be alert to the traps and discern from the ones where the microtransactions are more optional and harmless.

Getting game time with virtual currency? Wasn't aware of that. And it's a clever mechanic to encourage more play time without it actually costing the player.

Which do you recommend that is free?

I've only been trying my hand at a few of the free ones, sampling buffet style you could say. Including Guild Wars 2, Warframe, Neverwinter, Blade & Soul, and Tera. But don't have enough clocked in to make an informed recommendation yet, heh.

Black Desert is supposed to fairly good. I've not tried it but I have been tempted.

WoW did have some of the most incredible gameplay at one point in its life (and I mean gameplay depth), and could safely be considered as the most fun multiplayer game of all time.

But those days are long gone. Blizzard's just been continuously shitting on the game for years now. I still recall when their subs dropped by almost half, and then they stopped announcing subscription figures. The people who still pay to play the game are lost causes.

WoW has been dead since Post-Wrath. If you like having no content and spending the majority of your time in trade chat trolling then the game is for you.

This is a discussion forum, and this thread is discussing the new expansion.

Having played more zones, I would argue that the only truly good zone was Azsuna. Stormheim could have been great, had it's questlines not outstayed their welcome.

And there is some more garbage with this expansion pack, I forgot to bring up. Blizzard's whole stunning the player while the boss does exposition has gotten extremely old now, and jsut feels unnatural.

Overall, the levelling in this expac is pretty damn poor.

Does the game still look like it was made in 2002 graphically?

You can use in game gold to pay. The amount changes but the average is around 35k - 40k gold and that really is not hard to get each month. I have not paid real money in 5 or 6 months and just used in game gold.

I'm not saying that because it sucks, I'm saying that because it's been around 12 years. Like seriously find a new game to play people.

no alternative still comes close, even though it is long since past its prime.

The closest sub game is FF14 ARR ... but that is tiny in comparison... and besides its graphics... an all-round inferior game (in terms of gameplay and end game).... B-grade cutscenes are what FF fanboys cling to... but the story and everything is ultimately pretty crap, and poorly paced (because MMO's dont suit it.).

Still waiting for a Free2play MMO to come close, it hasn't happened... they all try to be WoW... instead of being the "Next step".
