Steam, the online service of Valve, is a huge succes. De developer of a.o. the Half-Life-series reports that there are 15 million registered users. And that the sales of downloadable games are going very well. The sales of the Christmas season were 158 percent higher than the same period the previous year.

what do you expect when the retards at NPD dont count digital purchases into overall game sales.

i buy all my games online and never go to game stores

Because most people opt for a console over a gaming PC. For something that everyone claims to be too expensive it still is doing great as far as game sales go.

According to the NPD: NPD looks into kids and gaming New report says PC dominates as game platform of choice... And a separate article (also NPD): "A number of our [surveys] ask respondents to indicate which platforms they game on, and the results of those questions make it very clear that the PC remains very prevalent, if not dominant, in the total gaming picture."
