"Ever since the Xbox One launched in 2013, the gaming division has closely been listening to the feedback and implementing changes. This process will continue in the future for the next-generation of machines, but it looks like "Team Xbox" also wants to know how Microsoft can improve Windows 10.

Today, the company posted a request on Twitter which asked gamers to discuss how Windows 10 can be improved to better accommodate playing. If you want a feature or are frustrated with some issue, make your voice heard. The company is taking requests right now via its UserVoice page

Team Xbox would love to hear how you'd like to see gaming on Windows improved. How can Windows 10 enhance your gaming experience? What features would you like added or changed to make gaming on Windows 10 even better? Create suggestions, vote for suggestions, and leave comments below!

  • What do you want Windows to do — or stop doing — while you're playing a game?
  • What can Windows do to optimize your gaming experience?
  • What other gaming features would you like to see?

There will be a collection phase, followed by a voting phase to see which ideas are the most popular. After that, it seems like the developers will work on implementing those changes. You can submit your ideas here.

Gaming on Windows 10: UserVoice

What changes would you like to see? After submitting your feedback, be sure to let us know in the comments too. I imagine a lot of requests will center around the Windows Store."

There you go I see many of the complaints so tell them to their face. Also keep in mind Windows PC gaming is under new management and the Xbox team is now involved. Last Windows VP was highly against that, but he is out and Phil is in.

Don't make GFWL again? Actually make PC games again?

Pretty simple.

Meh, I'm pretty much one of the few who hardly bitches about Windows 10 store. I only use it to play MS exclusive games, download the game, play it, and uninstall it. That's it. Sadly though, I really got nothing to add what MS is looking for cause I barely use the damn store.

The only thing that comes to mind is the windows 10 store, my brother used it once to install the Kill Instict demo, and it wouldn't let me uninstall the game, so I resetted my entire OS to get rid of it.. Haven't used it for anything since. lol

Windows Store... support Vulkan as the standard graphics API across Windows and Xbox then rename the Xbox to something else because it would not make sense, officially release the Xbox 360 emulator for PC.

Fix Windows store. It is embarrassingly useless and needlessly complex. For starters, make the line between apps, games, and utility software more distinct. Every time I load it up it's like someone just took a giant shit of random programs on my screen that I have no interest in, use for, or anything like that.

"Less is more" attitude. I don't need any "services" or "social aspects" or any of that crap; just let me buy a game from them, and give me a bit of aftermarket support to fix the inevitable problems.

This is mine. Why is the Xbox, Store, and Forza app three different things? Time to streamline that crap.

Streaming from PC to Xbone would be nice.

Also not locking our game files so we can actually modify them, even simple stuff like skiping intro videos.

The only way to uninstall it is to find it in your start menu, right click, and uninstall. You can't uninstall from the Windows Store. It's the stupidest nonsense I've ever seen in a storefront.

yeah if you have to do a Google search on "how to uninstall _______" your company has failed the ease-of-use test.

Unless of course they did it intentionally, then they aced the "sinister corporate force-software-to-stay-installed" test.

Their games don't even show up on the control panel "uninstall a program" list! WTF?! And like most people I have this whole long list of crap on my PC so I have to scroll through all the applications on the start menu and be like "Oh yeah I installed this a few months ago I can probably remove it now", quickly followed by "it was taking up HOW MUCH space?"

After reading some of the post here, it's obviously none of you PC gamers don't know how to use the damn store. Me, all I do is just download MS exclusive, play it, and uninstall it. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3. And you shouldn't even be using it nothing but to play MS exclusive games only, that's why we have Steam and other better Clients.

We don't need Microsoft to do anything? They supply us with a good OS... that's all their role is.

The only thing that would make any difference is making PC Centric games again, which I doubt will happen. Because PC Centric games don't work across other platforms.

Basically Microsoft... just make better games, and keep releasing them. Don't copy Sony though... TPS action games get boring.

The top 3 though lol.

Firstly no 1 and no 3: Doesnt Win 10 already disable unnecessary background processes with the game bars "game mode" option?

Make a version of windows specifically for gaming is the second most popular request. I can see it now: Windows 10 Gaming edition, cant use anything other than Windows store and XBOX. They already have something like that its called an XBOX One.

Allow users to launch a game on PC with a controller: Well, we already can do that.

Were these requests really made by PC gamers?

my opinion as well. It was already bad enough that they gave xbox exclusives to PC but it seems their intention for the future is to treat PC players as first class citizens over xbox players.

Well yeah, why wouldn't they? MS has always been about Windows support and to it's PC community. Xbox consoles to them is just a bonus making extra money on their part, can't charge PC gamers, so they'll just charge console players into doing it because they can. MS treating us PC gamers as Gods never felt so good because I won't need to buy their consoles ever again.

I have no problem supporting Windows 10, love the OS and as long as I can play MS games on it, I'm all good.

imo, if xbox doesn't have any true exclusives, it shouldn't exist at all, they should can it and become a third party publisher and let someone else attempt a console (if they have the means to provide exclusive experiences not available anywhere else).

@ahmedkhan1994: Easier said then done. Most gamers aren't into PC gaming at all and it's why Xbox consoles exist for this purpose. I couldn't careless if MS stays or leaves the console market but then again, I hope they don't, because of competition is good for the gaming industry.

How about installation setup like every other digital service where I can have access to the exe file.

Some of us like to use Reshade or ENBs to make the games look better.

Some of us like to use mods to prolong the enjoyment of a game.

Get on it, MS

I agree. I downloaded and installed the Killer Instinct Demo. I ran it once. Then, I uninstalled it using the normal Windows Uninstall utility. Everything worked okay and I got my hard drive space back.

This highly depends.

1) Will the UI suit a PC Game? or be a mix to work on Xbox/Tablets ? (E.g Civ 6)

2) Will the pace of the game be designed around a mouse, or a controller?

It's being made by Relic Entertainment, who have made strategy classics like Company of Heroes and Homeworld

and it's being built on top of the strong foundations that Ensemble studios made before them.

Have you played any of the previous AOE games ? or any of Relic's games ?

To me, Relic is basically the biggest PC developer that is still keepin the RTS genre alive.

That's fine, CiV 6 was made by the standard team and that became tabletized. So yea, I feel I can be pessimistic, even if Relic are making it, if Microsoft has its hand in it, and says "Yea, PC exclusive first, Xbox later" .. .then it won't be PC centric.

Only time will tell though.

Just because XB1 games are on PC doesn't mean PS4 and Switch owners can play it on their consoles and not all gamers want to game on the PC.

this has been said countless times already when discussing "Play Anywhere" but releasing xbox exclusives on PC gave consumers the option to ignore xbox. I currently own all systems (PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, Switch) and a PC. Now I have no reason to get the new xbox unless my friends decide to stick with it for another gen (highly unlikely as they have always wanted to get into PC gaming but didn't want to abandon xbox "exclusives", mainly Halo).

additionally, unless all games become crossplay with PC, xbox will continue to lose players/sales due to people learning that they do not need an Xbox to play MS games and migrating to PC. Thus the xbox community will continue to dwindle.

Also, what happens when PC's become more accessible to console gamers (the way steam box was supposed to be) while offering PC exclusives that aren't on xbox? (affordable, small in form factor, come bundled with a controller, no live/PS+ fees, no headaches involving drivers, etc.).

They never said anything about an Xbox version. Age of Empires IV was announced as a PC exclusive and still is.

Just like the definitive re-releases of AOE 1,2 and 3: they didn't remake them with Xbox UI, they are made soley for PC.

There are still many people who have traditional habits when it comes to playing games such as keeping the PC at a desk in a den and consoles with the living room TV. Just make a thread here about the PC being the best option and you'll see them come out.

There are also many parents who will not fork out the dough for a proper gaming PC/laptop, making the XB1 and XB1X still a relevant option.

Okay, here's something I like suggest for MS how to improve Windows 10.

1-Built-in official emulators for the Xbox consoles. Given the current state of Xbox emulation, I'd be all for an official solution to play these games on PC.

2-MS needs to stop charging $10 to change your Gamertag, and stop requiring every Gamertag be unique. At least on PC, Steam let's you can change for free.

3-MS could release ports of Rare Replay and Master Chief Collection. That's all that it would take for me to be content :)

This was my suggestions, still pending on the Xbox site and also posted to Twitter.

Put an end to all the restrictive functionality;

* stop forcing V-sync
* stop forcing borderless windowed mode
* don't block overlays (Afterburner)
* stop restricting mouse macros
* stop restricting mods
* clear up refund policies

In other words, be RESPECTFUL to stop making decisions for us, talking down as if "you know better what's good for us". Let the consumer have the flexibility to customize the gaming experience to our tailored needs & preferences... what's EXPECTED OF PC GAMING.

I don't think you fully understand how things work. Gamers don't game on consoles because the games are exclusives. They game on consoles because they enjoy gaming on consoles. You are of the idea that the moment a game is available on the PC, console gamers would just jump to PC. That is not how it works. The real world doesn't work that way.

this has been said countless times already when discussing "Play Anywhere" but releasing xbox exclusives on PC gave consumers the option to ignore xbox.

I don't think you fully understand how things work. Gamers don't game on consoles because the games are exclusives. They game on consoles because they enjoy gaming on consoles. You are of the idea that the moment a games is available on the PC, console gamers would just jump to PC. That is not how it works. The real world doesn't work that way.

Basically this! Not everyone is into or don't simply care about PC gaming at all. If I was a console gamer only, how the hell am I'm supposed to play MS offerings? I can't do that on a PS4 or a Switch for that matter and I sure don't wanna mess with PC, so the only option left is to go buy Xbox One so I can play Halo on it.

As a PC gamer, I still don't know why this question continues to be ask around here?

Agreed. There are plenty of people that just can't stand the PC experience and have to sit at a desk in front of a PC long enough everyday for work. Please don't start with the move it to the living room or play with a controller. My X works great and looks awesome on my 4k Tv.

The old console wars measuring sticks have been going away as MS is going more and more play where you want, just buy and use our stuff.

I digress. Since I don't really play on PC, love hearing the thought out issues that are out there that need fixing and hope you are making your voices heard with MS themselves. I just have always been curious for why all the hate.

Again I don't know if you guys know the story. But Terry Myerson the former VP of Windows was the guy Phil had to report to and was known as "the human gate keeper". He held Phil back quite a bit including NOT letting the Xbox team help with the MS gaming store, as he wanted to keep Xbox and Windows teams separate. Xbox's game store to me has always been great and super easy so seemed like a no brainer.

Anyway Old Terry is gone and Phil got his spot on the board as VP of gaming that's why all the positive changes keep making news. The Dude cares, and wants it to be better. And if you see what they have done leading up to the X and after, they are really listening.

Don't really have any feedback beyond making Xbox game pass fully on pc which they're doing anyways. Windows 10 works great.

@zaryia: Perhaps, though you’re certainly not camping out in a community who sympathizes with that perspective.

Somebody assist, but what were the estimates of transmissions of pornographic content as a percentage of all internet traffic in recent years? IIRC, the figure was around 40%.

I hate porn! I'm a Hentai guy, so I guess I'm a Sinner then. But then again, I'm not a Religion guy either so how you or anyone views me is all on you, that's not my business.
