In reality they were probably years away from getting it to run. PS3 is incredibly hard to emulate. Probably see a PS4 emulator before PS3.

From the videos i've seen, it seems to run pretty well.

Release on PC then and make some money, have no sympathy for Atlus.

20 hours into P5 on my PC at the moment...

it's amazing how far it's progressed, although it's still a sub par experience next to either console at the moment, emulators still in their early days are never adequate replacements for the real console.

Don't think we're really supposed to talk about this but at best Atlus can request that P5 content (screenshots/videos) be removed. They have no claim to remove the emulator. It's been upheld that emulation is legal as long as you are not ripping off copyrighted code to make it.

even Patreon disagreed with Atlus, the emu dev just pulled any mention of persona 5

Atlus is really desperate to not have this game on PC at all costs. Out of touch and arrogant. The demand is there, the successes of their peers have been proven.

Anyway, at least Patreon handled this well and did not take their page down. This move from Atlus should only increase the donations.

Nope. I specifically configured my main PC with Skylake X i7-7820X for such workloads i.e. 120 percent over the original game console. LOL

Skylake X's has 1 MB L2 cache per CPU which easily handles 256 KB local data store per SPU which minimizes X86 CPU's higher latency L3 cache over-spill.

i7-7820X has ~1.6 TFLOPS FP32** with woop-ass FMA/FMAC hardware to brute force PS3 emulation.

**3.2 TFLOPS FP16 or 3.2 TIOPS INT16.

I love seeing the LLVM re-compiler's using all 16 CPU threads. Can't wait for next year's AMD vs Intel CPU wars.

Sega just ported Bayonetta and Vanquish over to pc and said they are interest in being more titles to pc, I think we are going to either get a persona 5 or Yakuza port late 2018 or 2019.
