Yea, before clicking expected a goober list.
Was a goober list.
They actually have Hitman 3 at number which is unexcpected.
Although Hitman deserve far and far more than any other crap games but not enough to be on number 2 lol.
Still Hitman 3 is true GOTY contender this year.
@ghosts4ever: Shitty "We started gaming 5 minutes ago and mostly like console" list.
Thankfully PC gamer is largely irrelevant now.

Steamdeck is future of PC gaming. Im telling everyone its my another prediction.
PC gaming is too and too expensive now. giant corporates from AMD and Nvidia looting us.
but cup, Try all 3 Hitman games. They are masterpieces.
Valhalla ranked higher than Sekiro and Metal Gear Solid 5.
Hitman 3 at #2 when it should not even be in the top 100. Apex isn't top 200.
why isn't Skyrim or GTA V in the top 50.
RDR 2, Death Stranding and The Witcher 3 have decent placements. Disco at #1 is a joke.
I suppose its cause its not on PC otherwise Metal Gear Solid 4 and The Last of Us 1 & 2 should occupy top 3.
@ghosts4ever: I tried Hitman (since it was free), a while ago and it was garbage.
Recently Sony (thank you Sony) gave us Hitman 2 for free, and my god is this game terrible. Played for 2 hours. When does it start getting good?
I knew it wouldn't be anywhere close to MGS4 or MGS5 in terms of quality (I expected perhaps 10% at best) and was still disappointed.
PCgamers' reviews have become worthless to me. They review every single game on a RTX3080 or higher, barely do any performance testing. I can read an entire PCgamer review and have absolutely no clue how the game performs on an average system.
Gonna start avoiding that site.

PC Gamer and Tom's Hardware are both shit and has been for years. Sad too cause both used to be so good, they really jump the shark. I rather read Steam/GoG reviews.

At the end of the day I just feel like I read a worse IGN review...
It's a shame too because I really liked the publicity they did for PC gaming. And the PC gamer E3 show was a good... concept.
Nowadays I mostly check ACG reviews, some smaller review channels too. And then there are specialist sites and channels that check how well games perform.
Rockpapershotgun and DSOgaming do solid performance reviews for some games.
Nice to see a lot of my favorites on there. Satisfactory, Kerbal Space Program, and HL: Alyx, to name a few.
Don't care about rankings, frankly, just glad to see a lot of my favorites on that list.

Not weird, lots of great games on there.
As I said, not concerned with ranking on lists like this, but what's weird about Apex Legends at no. 4? It's an amazing game that essentially knocked both PUBG off its pedestal and opened up the sub-genre quite a bit.
Apex Legends seemingly came out of nowhere, is a near-perfect example of a consumer-friendly free-to-play model, and has had a constant stream of updates and content additions.
It's not my favorite game, nor is it my favorite genre, but it is nonetheless a fantastic game worthy of any top 100 list.
Rest of the list was great. I haven't played about 1/3 to 1/2 of the games on there, but every game on that list is a good one. Glad to see I have such excellent tastes in games :D
No doubt a lot of the console-only folks are looking at this list going "WTF?" lol

Yeah but in a sector played by absolute pure shit, PC Gamer is still a pretty good site for gaming news, reviews, and opinions. Seems like one of the few places that hires actual journalists to write their articles. Rock Paper Shotgun is also pretty good, might even be better.
Still, I long for the late-90's PC Gamer. I had that subscription for years, love those demo discs.

PC gamers brag about how many games they have and how amazing their hardware is, yet Apex Legends is considered their number 4 game? Lmao! Good on you tho for not caring about rankings. It was just my observation.

I liked the articles they did on upcoming games, but to be honest it's been a while since I've actually read one.
the PC gamer E3 show kinda replaced it, ie. insight on upcoming PC games.
No Starcraft, Diablo, or Deus Ex on a PC list is surprising
Yea I'm afraid PC gamer has been taken over by GEN Z.
That has to be the most zoomer list If I ever saw one.
Edit:
I just realized that list has no Half Life, Left 4 Dead 1 or 2, any Dawn of War game, TES Oblivion, The Witcher 2, STALKER, Diablo 2 or 3, Crysis, DOS 2, Dota 2, Dragon Age Origins, Any Baldurs Gate game, Killing Floor 1 or 2, Any Mount and Blade game, no Battlefield game and no TES Morrowind.
How do you not have 2 or 3 of those games in a top 100 PC games list

It's just glorified marketing, that's why it's comprised of more modern games that are still currently on sales and the publishers are still actively trying to sell them.
The fact that people still expect any kind of honest instead of shilling from gaming media in 2021 is both surprising and sad.
