Even hermits can't resist the Motal Kombat call. Just one of these silly online petitions if any pc'ers out there interested. :D (unless, of course, your "higher standards" don't include a spot for MK). ;)

MK9 is quality enough to join the glorious master PC race in Valhalla. Unlike its brethern (other games, not its previous installments) it has risen above and beyond our uber high expectations. We will welcome it with open arms if thy accepts our gracious offer.

its like comparing tf2 on consoles to tf2 on pc in terms of support and community
Still not getting whats being said.. The games was hinted that it could come to PC, Pc has the ability to play fighting games with ease, the series has had a home on PC in the past, and the engine they used is fairly easy for PC. Its nothing but a win here to have it eventually come to PC. Personally, I could see this pop on the PC platform in 5 or so months after the console market has soaked up new copies and the rentals take control over sales.. Infact, I have this feeling that is what will happen.

idk thats the best I could figure out from that guys comments. No doubt pc games do better in the long run, and sales would spike if they do decide to release for the pc. still if most console to pc ports have shown us, the dev commitment to quality and updates isn't garaunteed.
Game should be on PC.. its using a engine that works well on PC and its a franchise that has been on PC before. Oh well, many other fighter games on PC this gen to play so i'm good.jedikevin2It may be on an engine that works well on the PC, but it is hardly a genre that works well, barring SF4 which is only playable if you have a controller or arcade stick thats compatible with your PC anyways (which believe it or not, most people do not have a gamepad or arcade stick on PC... or if they have a 360 controller to use, they likely don't have a suitable PC to run the game) It just isn't financially viable. It is also worth noting that SF4 may have done moderately well, but it also was, at least according to Capcom, pirated enough to keep them from releasing Super Street Fighter 4 on PC. My guess is Netherrealm took a long hard look at this, and that was their deciding factor.

Understandable but since this is a Unreal 3 engine game, it wouldn't be much of a issue in my opinion.
Of course we do. Mortal Kombat is one of the most ******* incredible games I've played in a very long time.
Ok?
This just in! Gamers always want more good games on their platform of choice!
I really dont see why this needs a topic lol.

Any controller is compatable with PC in your regard (I have ps2, 360, snes arcade sticks etc and play several fighting games on Pc with ease). I don't see your financially viable claim here nor do I see your claim that the genre is not a good fit on pc. With all these fighter games being announced for pc, (including a collection editon of old Mortal Kombat games), capcom ressurgence, and the fairly popular outside US of PC fighting games on pc, it won't be much of a issue.. as I stated eariler, they would soak as much console funds and as the rental scene took over, go ahead and release a PC version to keep a nice income coming in.

SSF4AE is coming to the PC if I recall correctly

Capcom releasing SSF4:Arcade Edition for PC. Your logic is invalid. And you don't know how many it'd sell, so you could never guess how financially viable it'd be for Netherrealm, especially considering MK9 is a huge hit and has already sold very well.
It'd only make sense to port it. Great engine that works incredibly well on PC and a genre that does too. SF4, with the way its combos work, doesn't play well with a KB/M. MK9 would work pretty damn well, almost like a fight stick, with KB/M.

Yup. And I'm definitely getting that when it comes out. Could use some more Street Fighter.
Doesn't every system owner want a game from another console/system? For example I'd love to play the first Crysis or try StarCraft II or Super Meat Boy. Even a few online games like Halo Reach or Gears. It's just normal to wanna try some games, unless you own all consoles and a decent gaming PC.

Well...to be honest, the genre works better on PC than adventure or strategy does on consoles and yet we do see some of those genres being ported to consoles (altough not many).
Also...Capcom is releasing Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition on PC, so I guess SFIV sold enoug for them to ignore the piracy issue.
To be honest..I think MK could sell really well on PC, far better than Street Fighter IV did. There's a huge nostalgia for this IP in Europe. People remember playing it on their amigas and pcs and most of those people still remain PC gamers today.
Och well, wasted chance I guess.
couldn't hurt. it would be cool to see the different mods people would come up with (though my guess is the 1st one out would be a nude mileena with a normal face.. or does the tarkatan mouth add to the allure?).
After SF4 sold well on PC, I think MK's chances of being released on the platform are quite good. Netherealm will probably test the waters with Mortal Kombat Kollection and, if that sells well enough, they will go ahead with porting the new MK.
Yeah, Pretty much this. No single platfrom has all the best games, and I am sure that regardless of which platform anybody here games on, they would wish that they could play a couple of titles that aren't there on their platform.Doesn't every system owner want a game from another console/system? Just get it on a console lol
OB-47
I could get 100 games on Steam for the same price as a console, so... no. I would buy the game on PC, if Netherealm want my money they know what they have to do.
[QUOTE="110million"]My higher standards don't include a spot for MK. Heil68Those standards are non existent with Guilty Gear taking up one of those spots. Personally would love MK to come out on PC and hope it does soon. Guilty Gear is already on PC, there are also other fighters that are better than MK already on PC, i.e melty blood.

I wish Actress Again was on the PC. I also wish something more recent than Guilty Gear #Reload was on the PC, i.e. AC+.
You know what? I wish ArcSys would man it up and put HnK on the pc.
But at least there are some pretty decent looking fighters that are avaliable.
871 signatures? I could get more if asked around town to march to North Korea with pink bunny costumes and donkey hats.
Nice thread, it really speaks volumes about what lows would some people reach just to try to deliver some ownage. As far as I'm concerned not even the "Can the PC do HD?" thread was this low, at least that happened out of blissful ignorance.

Yeah, it would be nice to legally play something like accent core, but for now. :PPlease Log In to post.
