Say what you want but it truly is. Games are even more and more being ported from consoles to PC. Most recent a once huge PC developer Ubisoft. Has ported Splinter Cell Conviction from 360 to PC just so it could even be on PC.

Not to mention look at Alan Wake 5 years ago it was boasted at look at PC and this new game. Oh how times have changed a fast at that. Not even on PC anymore.

With services like Onlive coming out that's going to eliminate having to buy PC hardware. Yes at first it will be buggy and need upgrades. But hey thats always been an issue in PC gaming anyway. After a year or 2 Onlive will be offer full 1080P at 60fps with no upgrades required. And it will be both on TV and PC. And it is painfully obvious that the in home living room big HD TV full surround sound with motion and controller and services like Xbox Live PSN and now Onlive. heck even Wii online. Has truly taken over.

Nvidia is already reportedly in trouble and looking to maybe merge. Looks like ATI may be the only one left. Once Onlive gets the kinks out. I'm counting on seeing MS and maybe even Sony start offering similar services for full game download and play on the fly.

Also look at PC's biggest shining gem for graphics. Crysis is now being ported and developed for Consoles. Because they know that have to the market is drying up fast.

PC gaming as we know it truly is in ICU and about CODE BLUE:shock:

About code blue? No way man, PC gaming about code red! Flat-lined, nada, dead, gone, disappeared, obliterated, demolished, destroyed, owned, pwned, forgotten, put on ice, gone out cold, expired, breathless, departed, done, no more, offed, wasted, asleep and never awakening... the list goes on, it's true! PC gaming doesn't exist anymore because Alan Wake isn't coming to the system.

umm... isnt onlive releasing on the pc first? so doesnt that count as pc gaming, as the games will still be the same, you just wont need a powerful pc to play them?

I really dont know how pc gaming is going to die, if pc games will still be made and be more easilyaccessible to people.

that being said, i think onlive has a long way to go before it can be considered a substitute for the nice gaming rig.

If anything I believe PC gaming will start to grow again now that the next gen is postponed until 2014-2015. Gamers will want to see the next level of detail in DX11 and that won't be available on consoles for some time. All those early adopters will probably see the even bigger difference in graphics and physics and buy into a gaming PC.

1) I'm surprised more of your threads don't get locked.

and

2) I'm amazed that you're not banned yet.

Just sayin'.

OT: No, PC gaming is not dying. As much as you might want to believe that. My proof? WoW, Counter Strike, and the RTS genre in general. There are plenty of places where PC excels over consoles. MMOs and RTSs are just some of them.

Steam is a good service. But really that's all PC has now. And it's not that huge. No one can deny graphic card sales are WAY down. People are opting out for the 360 and PS3 and PSN and LIVE.

That is the only saving grace really. And those are going to end up mostly on home systems. Good chance we see Diablo 3 and maybe evn Star craft 2 ported over.

I assume TC have never been in Europe, Russia or Asia? since the sales of gaming pcs are growing?

Or he may just ignore that the PC has far the biggest amount of software sales?

Or the fact that STEAM alone has more people online then the consoles combined? *raises eyebrow*

The thread is another phathetic flamebait attempt. TC did not even bother checking the background infor of what he is saying :P he chould be a politician ;)

Leading Platform for PC Games Now Serving Over 25 Million Accounts January 29, 2010 - Valve® today announced extraordinary 2009 growth data for Steam, a leading platform for PC games and digital entertainment, with major increases in accounts, concurrent players, unit sales and more. The year also marked tremendous adoption of the Steamworks suite of publishing services in the tangible and electronic versions of many of the year's biggest releases. During the last calendar year the platform surpassed 25 million active accounts, up 25% from the prior year. Of the 25 million accounts, over 10 million of those have profiles in the Steam Community.SteamNews

Steam = Over 2 million users online at peak. Over 20 MILLION steam account holders

WOW = 10 million subs or whatever

Battle.net = FROM WIKI "According to Blizzard's claims, Battle.net is the largest online gaming network in the neighborhood. Blizzard claims "millions of active users" on Battle.net, and that they are the leaders of online gaming, noting that "evenXbox Liveis not even close".[9]By November 1997 they had 22 million games played, had 1.25 million different users, and averaged 3,500 new users each day.[10]By April 1999, it was reported that Battle.net had 2.3 millionactiveusers, and more than 50,000 concurrent users.[11]By September 2002, their active user count had jumped to 11 million.[12]By September 2004, their active user count was up to nearly 12 million, spending more than 2.1 million hours online each day, and they had an average of 200,000 concurrent users, with a peak concurrent user count of 400,000.[13]In November 2008, Blizzard banned over 357,700 accounts that were found to be using third-party hacks"

Then you combine that with loads of other games that have their own networks. PC user base dwarfs Xbox Live and PSN

Yeah steam isn't huge at all... Digital Distribution only represents a significantly greater amount of game sales than retail stores when it comes to PC games, but its not huge at all... If anything the strong sales of BF:BC2 on PC are proof how wrong you are not to mention a stronger following online than the 360 or PS3.

Grain of Salt with this. You see ACTIVE is about 10million. So just becuase Steam has 25 million registered since it's launch years ago. Only about 10million have active profiles.

Heck if that the case then Xbox Live has 23 million PAID accounts. And I would imagine another 10million on ave Silver accounts.

And lets factor in about 10 million PSN active accounts. And I would venture to say 10-20 million Wii online accounts.

That's what you've got? How about the abundance of games like RTS that PC gets, whilst console doesn't. Or Adventure games, superior multiplats, diablo-esque RPG's, FPS etc.

Or i'll just submit this list for your perusal, and you can get back to me.

Steam = Over 2 million users online at peak. Over 20 MILLION steam account holders

WOW = 10 million subs or whatever

Can you show evidence of this? Your original post smacks of ignorance and wishful thinking. I constantly see great small games with unique concept and artst-yle, to accompany the larger released for PC. When you stop seeing innovative games, that is when PC gaming is dying. It's not going to happen.

If it's dead then it's dead. Then perhaps (stupid) threads like this can finally end. Go toot your horn and have a parade.
