i'll be honest then, i was never a hardcore pc gamer (i played wow and the half life games but thats it) but the pc has never had the games to interest me to invest in a gaming pc. I get that games look better on pc but unless you have interesting games then i'm not going to play it. I know this has little to do with the thread but usually when i hear pc gaming is dead i can see where the person is coming from. When the person says they are mainly a pc gamer though even i can call BS
And yet if you don't point out that you have some experience as a PC gamer, your argument will be dismissed with a simple "you don't even own a gaming PC". Nice Catch-22 you guys have going.lowe0
At least those people have the credibility of being an outside observer.
They say it to make their statements sound less biased I guess. And a lot of times it seems to have nothing to do with the PC itself. They think they have to upgrade it by about $500 or more every 6 months in order to have it compare to console quality games, or they don't know how to hook it up to their TV and play on the couch, they're heavy into COD and their buddies play it on 360 Live all the time and they'd rather play with their friends. Even if you couldn't or wouldn't hook your PC up to your TV, they think they'd be uncomfortable playing on their PCs because the chair would be uncomfortable. Solution there would to not have an uncomfortable computer chair in the first place, and use good posture. Problem should be solved easily. They blame their own personal problems outside of the PC on their inability to be comfortable using it.
There are lots of other reasons, but that should give some idea.
I used to be a PC gamer......but I got sick of having to get a new operating system every month and upgrading my hardware every week!!! :P

I'll be sure to remind you guys of that. Be sure not to confuse outside observations with trying to act like you know about something when in fact you know notihing. Theres a difference.its a crass attempt to make it look as if we genuinely care about PC gaming, when we are actually quite giddy about the idea of its decline. as a wise man once said, "you have to get behind someone before you can stab them in the back."
Awww... it's so cute when you're so completely wrong. *pats head condescendingly. He's gonna remind you now, that he CAN afford a gaming PC, but it's not worth bothering. Just wait.

I'm a PC gamer but I haven't upgraded my GPU in 2 hours and my CPU in 30 seconds!
Now my PC has a gun to the back of my head and is threatening to pull the trigger if I don't upgrade something RIGHT NOW!
Someone please send me some RAM!

Your pc has hands? :o

But ya, sure go ahead, still better than those really sketchy looking "I have a gaming PC but PC gaming sux0rz" posts.

Good question.
A true PC gamer would know that the platform is strong - desktops in particular.

You only upgrade once a week?... Wow, you must be running a lot of new games on low.
yeh I have to run games at ultra low settings with a resolution of 150x75 :?
As everyone else said, to try to say they have had past experience and "know" what they are talking about (excludes preference; no one should come here to debate personal preference [if I had half a penny for everytime the word preference was used here] ).
The main issue I see with the rise of "PC GAMING AM DEAD" threads is that they will compare it to a console or treat it like a console. As I have started to say recently, PCs and consoles are two different entities. With the exception of games, it's not fair to compare and treat one like the other. The nature of each is just too wide.
And yet if you don't point out that you have some experience as a PC gamer, your argument will be dismissed with a simple "you don't even own a gaming PC". Nice Catch-22 you guys have going.lowe0The manner in which they choose to present themselves doesn't really matter.
I don't think it's with them being untruthful or fakeboys, but rather their ignorance of their ignorance. Some people think they know more than they really do. Being a "PC gamer" can range from being the type that upgrades yearly and plays various types of games, to the type that plays Farmville and Runescape all day.
i'll be honest then, i was never a hardcore pc gamer (i played wow and the half life games but thats it) but the pc has never had the games to interest me to invest in a gaming pc. I hope you understand that what you're saying is highly subjective. Saying "I don't like x type of game so x platform is dying" is, well, ridiculous.
If you look at all these type of threads its usually the same way they start "Im a (insert platform to bash) and I can admit thast (insert topic to bash)" I| dont know why they just dont admit the truth and then put forward a decent argument to back up the claim they are trying to make.

Oh stop it, I have had my Pc for 3 years(bought it for A$700) haven't upgraded it's hardware since, and have had no trouble running any games on High detail.
No one plays on PC anymore, you have to spend 2000$ on a gaming rig and then spend $500 every month on upgrades.
Not to mention PC only has MMO and RTS and you can't play on your comfy sofa.
coreybg
Yeah I have to play on a wooden uncomfortable chair made in the stone age. Feels bad man.
They know they are about to say something stupid so to make their own comment more valid they need to start of by saying something that make it sound like they know what they are talking about.
