PC gaming dying?

Since it seems no one has posted it yet Here it is

System wars has been very boring lately with all this Move and Kinect stuff I thought it was time to spice it up a bit. For all the pc haters thining it is doomed, eat your heart out. Before you read or click on the link, take into account this is just the pc community who happens to game on steam. There are alot more pc gamers out there!

October 18, 2010 - Valve® today announced the latest growth data for Steam, a leading platform for PC & Mac games and digital entertainment, revealing new account growth of 178%, sales growth of over 200%, over 200 Steamworks games shipped to date, and more.

During the past 12 months the platform had year-over-year new user growth of 178%, pushing the total number of active accounts to over 30 million, with over 1,200 games now offered. Peak simultaneous player numbers were also up to over three million, with over six million unique gamers accessing Steam each day.

It's good to see PC gaming doing so well.

I think this was posted a while back by that spyder fellow I think. Still great news though. I had a hissy fit with Steam not letting me play NV when I went to the midnight launch Monday, but I am all good now :P. Steam is awesome!millerlight89

ya the moment i found that pic it had to go in as my sig. it was from that news a few months back about MS cancelling some cross platform game (PC/MS) because the average pc gamer dominated the 360's elite gamers. they said superior m/k didnt allow for a fair and balance playing arena. Hell i could have told them that LOL

Despite the fact that I'm not a PC gamer its still good that PC gaming is doing well.

I think you should try it out even if you dont have an almighty powerful rig. you'll find some awesome prices for older games that dont require much to run. If you wanna play some of the newer games than ya you may have to upgrade. one i would definitely recommend is sc2, which is not heavy on requirements at all.

ya im surprised they didnt learn their lesson with shadowrun. I wonder what mystery game it was they were working on?

It's dying. The pc has only had a few big hits in the past decade (half life 2, crysis, starcraft 2 and ut2004) which are now going on to consoles. The rest are some MMO's and rts games, which are likely to come to the consoles in the near future. Pc gaming costs hell of alot too. What's the point when I can just buy a 360 for 200 bucks and play more exclusives on it. Consoles are concentrated on gaming with big companies pushing games onto them. The pc, not so much. Most of the pc games are done by 3rd party devs like blizzard, who have pretty much no reason to keep making exclusive games on it. And if they expanded to consoles they would get much more money. It's dying in an exclusive standpoint, not by how many people are playing.

if it wasn't for mmo's and rts games then PC gaming would be nearly dead sure theres some rts games and strategy but most f the pc games that are keeping it alive are mmo's and rts elbert_b_23

Halo wars worked very well on the xbox. And halo is designed for the controller, halo 1 didn't feel right on the pc. The triggers to throw nades, and shoot, it all just works very well. Even the aiming was extremely accurate.
