I seen that list before. Most of the games on it are not even single A, some not even exclusive.

roflcopter317

Almost all of them are exclusive, some dont even have a review score. So whats your point?

If I was to put together a list of some games on the 360 or ps3, trust me, that would get blow out of the water.

please do so. then we can break down all the games in the pc list vs games on ur consoles combined list. As a tip, i think you're diving into a realm you know nothing about.

You haven't played either have you. If you had, you would know that StarCraft 2 has a big II on it. Which means two.

Mabey some day when I have nothing better to do. Anyway I did make a big list on a rainy day based on a game rankings. The 360 had more AAA and AA games. But the hermits hid behind gamespot "No! ur meant to make a list on gamespot because we are on here!".

You can't compare it like that. PC games get reviewed by certain review outlets that console games don't. Same goes the other way around. Look at the GS spreadsheet.

I thought a macro was some sort of script you run, and you can build all the buildings you want alot faster. Isn't that giving yourself an unfair advantage? Which is cheating. Sorry if I sounded stupid I have never used a macro.

Doesn't that even it out? I checked halo 3's scores, and only 4 of them where from an xbox website or magazine. I hardly doubt it would make that much of a difference.

no they are talking about in SC terms, and the terms are usually in reference to a player's skill rather than a game.

micro management is in reference to a player's ability to micromanage or macromanage his units. SC2 doesnt heavily require either.... its actually a very simple RTS, much like halo wars... tho probably not as simple as halo wars (havent played halo wars)... but its popular mainly for its simplicity.

Heard it in the PS1 era, heard it in the PS2 era, heard it in the PS3 era. See the similarities? Yet, 10 years later the PC sits as one of the strongest and most diverse systems to date. Funny how some people think. Just my 2 cents. I'm not here to argue with anyone on it. Fanboys and haters will exist. Just beating a dead horse.

A bit old really however, Six million people accessing steam each day. On one distribution platform. Seriously that is huge, as far as multiplatform comparisons go the likes of XBox Live pales next to those numbers.

Just because you are better than me in SC2 or that kid is better than you in tetris... doesnt make the games anymore complex.

oh really?

exactly what im talking about... things like developing hand speed have nothing to do with the complexity of the game. Thats why SC has always been so popular, its a relatively simple game that certain people take to an extreme level.

I mean are you gonna sit here and tell me SC2 requires more complex macromanagement than civilizations?

what SC2 does is has relatively simple micro/macro but the competition lies in doing both those things at an almost superhuman level. Similar to someone playing a simple game like tetris at a very high level.

I don't want to put down any of the games anyone likes but... Rts games are pretty boring imho. Strategy just isn't fun.

RTS are about thinking really fast. I've always thought of RTS games as a chess game where your oponnent will move if you don't think fast enough. Obviously, if you don't have the patience to think when you don't have time to do it, you won't ever make it on a RTS.

HCMBusiness_89

Actually PC gaming has been dying since the late 80's, and thats just AFAIK, who knows what lies beyond that.

[QUOTE="Awaken92"] I'm a bronze player (Started not too long ago) and even i know the importance of macro in sc2...Awaken92

i platinum'ed all during placement matches so it didnt take me long to get into daimond. I got injured tho so i havent played in almost a month. Every now and then tho i play Sotis (strike of the imperial sanctum). its sc2's DOTA basically. Extremely fun and addicting. gotta love mods/custom games.

Well, i started playing one week after it came out, since a lot of friends started playing it, so i decided to try it out. It's a great game but i still have to get used to doing stuff really fast :b

yeah it takes time. to be fair i bought sc1 launch day wayyy back then 12 years ago. Im a veteran at it. Also i was in the sc2 beta so that also helped me out alot. To give ya some tips i would really recommend you finish all the challenges. they teach you alot! try to get gold in all of them it makes good practice and plus you'll get a really cool spectre portrait hehe. I would also recommend you try SoTiS. its a custom game for sc2. It seems simple but it actually has a deep learning curve. exrermely fun. you just control 1 unit so you sorta learn how to micro with that as well.

Anyway, out of all the Starcraft, RTS and other stuff going on here. Going back to topic - I think that PC Gaming is the most versatile kind of gaming. Why? Because almost any game can adapt to it, whereas not every PC game can be imported to Consoles just as easily, without losing some features of the PC version. As i said before, PC Gaming might be expensive, but we PC Gamers make every cent spent worthy.

you are just trolling, you need to stop posting in this thread, you are just making yourself look worse you know.

That is my oppinion. I am trolling because I don't like a certain type of game? You logic is astouding.

Yet, you say PC gaming is dying because you don't like RTS games. So the logic your using is any better?

I want to see you beat this kid in tetris

doesnt mean tetris is a complex game... just means some people excel at simple tasks.

Just because you are better than me in SC2 or that kid is better than you in tetris... doesnt make the games anymore complex.

any sc1/sc2 veteran will tell you strategy > apm. Having a good balance of both is best. And yes i would say sc2 requires alot more micro/macro than civs. They have intense tournaments for a reason. The day civs becomes a country's national sport is the day i'll agree with you

Thank You!! See what I mean. Haters will hate. Fanboys will bash. Just have to sift through all the bs lately. I remember when I was like 16-18 years old hearing this. I would rage and fight until I was blue in the face. Now at 21 years old I just laugh and say okay, because I know in 10 years it along with me will still be here and stronger than ever. :D

Hey, thank you, i'll try out that :) Actually, i already did some challenges but ended up on Bronze/Silver because i still find them kinda hard. I'll focus on them i guess.
