and yet if you compared the amount of gamers on consoles, to the amount of gamers on pc's...id think the console gamers would be bigger cause in reality even our casual players are gamers, the pc's casuals are buisness people and people surfing the net not many of them even have a computer capable of gaming any ways.WilliamRLBaker

Psyconaughts is great (tim schafer is so awesome), but it's gameplay doesn't touch SMGs.

Not really, you can hook your PC up to an HDTV and play it on your couch also with a wireless M/KB.

It all depends on what you like; the PC does somethings better than consoles, but same goes vice versa.

PC is superour in many ways, but consoles have plenty of advantages over the PC.

PC's have 3 types of games that it handles well - MMORPGs, FPS's and RTS/SIMs.

That's it. Those are the three genre's PC's can claim superiority over. But there's NOTHING ELSE going for PC gaming.

Consoles provide superior experiences for Sports, Action/Adventure, Fighting, Platformers, Music/Rhythm games, Racing, Single-Player RPG's and all sorts of sub genres. Not too mention, consoles are now pulling off FPS exclusives that rival the PC FPS's.

Not too mention, Consoles gameshave re-sale value. You can rent and trade-in your old console games for new console games.

You can't rent PC games. You can't trade in PC games. Once you install the game and reigster the CD-Key, you're stuck with it.

PC gaming is just too High-Maintainence, too Expensive and too Limited to be considered a superior gaming platform.

FPS, RTS, TBS, 3rdPS, MMO, WRPG, Adventure, SIM: Flight, Space / Sci-fi, Racing, Combat, Ship/Sub - , Indie (puzzle, 2D platformer, aracde action, 2D fighting), 'God Games' ect. And also dont forget Online. Modifications are also a huge point worth noting, as is the ability to create your own games / content.

Consoles are better in the 3D Platformer, JRPG, Action Adventure, and 3D fighter departments.

Genres like Racing are debateable, as the PC sports tons of fantastic racing games, multiplatform and exclusive, and the only big franchises it misses out on are Ridge Racer and Burnout.

Not too mention, Consoles gameshave re-sale value. You can rent and trade-in your old console games for new console games.

You can buy PC games for a fraction of the the Price over Digital Distribtion. Prey for $5 USD anyone?
Not to mention PC games are cheaper in general, and have a MUCH longer shelf life.

You can't rent PC games. You can't trade in PC games. Once you install the game and reigster the CD-Key, you're stuck with it.

Well actually you can rent certain PC games art certain places: Here - Blockbuster, Video Ezy and Game Traders. I have already stated advantages of DD.

As for CD Key - depends on the law in your country. Here anything can be returned if its faulty regardless, otherwise - try the demo or trail first - like everyone else.

Consoles dont broaden genres. They stick to certain proven, sucessful genres and work away at them. Thats it.

Im sure you are aware that the PC has the most control options available by a mile - compared to every other system - so how is that not a valid point?:| THough yes there are some genres that do work better on consoles, unquestionably.

Anyways....imo PC gaming is great for FP's, RTS, old school PC games (e.g Monkey Island), MMORPG, Flight Sims(not the arcade style air combat sims), RPG's e.t.c.....

But I perfer playing platformers, footy games, 3rd person games like Uncharted on a console. S

I am Technical Support Analyst and I work with PC's/Mac's e.t.c day in day out dealing User problems e.t.c... and some times when I get home I rather just turn on my console and just pick up and play...

You know, there are far better platformer games on PC with better controls such as Psychonauts. Consolites are so brainwashed. . .Click_Clock

Consolites ALWAYS get hammered in these discussions because virtually all of them have next to no experience with PC gaming whereas PC gamers usually have a broad knowledge of consoles and their games because we play both. You just can't argue about something that you know nothing about.
