TRUE. Face it PC gamers, we pay for the supurior experience. To build a rig for the same price as a console, you would have the inferior experience as opposed to getting top-end parts. PC gaming is a expensive hobby, but is worth it in the long run. But what is FALSE is the myth PC hardware comes out every 1 month. PC hardware goes through a refresh every 1-2 years, even then, you aren't forced to buy it.

In the end, if you want the best experience, go for PC gaming (that's if you prefer the biggest AAA + AA library), otherwise get a console if you don't prefer the PC gaming experience.

Ofcourse its more expensive , than 1 console , both PS3/Xbox360 combined though boreders very close to the price of my rig , Wii goes over it.

But then my games are nearly half the price of the console's counterparts ... so If I was PC Gamer exclusivly ... then I would be paying out less in the long run ... but I'm not .... so ... :P

Yeah, it's more expensive, not denying it here. But things aren't always black and white. When you start factoring other things in like free online, cheaper games, free extra content and other uses for your PC it slowly starts to even up. Upgrades do cost money and are half-obligatory every 2 years, but they also improve your experience in all games so you are actually paying for something.

That's true. I have all 3 consoles, and I love them for the genres that you don't get on PC. But I don't deny the fact that PC gaming is more expensive, although at the same time, a better bang for your buck.

No way! Even 360 + PS3 + Wii is WAAAAYYYYY less expensive than PC gaming, especially over a 5 year period.

Right.. My rig can play ut3 better than the 360. I got it 2 years ago for $900 canadian. I also use it as a home computer. If you are going to get a hoem computer why not spend a little extra and make it a gaming pc. So pretty much I spent like $250 extra to get a gaming pc. Last time I checked $250 is less than the ps3 or 360

Are you joking? I can build a PC with quad-core CPU, an 8800GT, 500GB HDD and 2GB of RAM for a $1,000. Not to mention PC games are $10 less expensive than console games, and I don't have to pay $50/year for online, which, over a five year period saves me more than $400 over buying all three consoles.

There is allready a topic about this... just quoting myself so I don't have to write all again.

The thing with PC gaming vs Console is that if you want to upgrade you have to replace everything. This isn't the case with PC gaming.

My quality corsairpower suply is bought back in 2005 and I kept in mind that if in order to upgrade any other new components I will have to buy over 500 watt. So I did exactly that. This year I upgraded to Q6600, 2GB and 8800GT and I didn't have to replace ANYTHING other then that. I allready have my Case, PSU, DVD rewriter. And theZalman 9500 cooling fan for the CPU is compatible with all processors, My Mobo allready had anythign in it that was required.

I spent

250 euros,Q6600

80 euros,Corsair DDR26561GBx2 667mhz

And just today I finnaly ordered my 8800GT for the price of 215 euros. This card performs almost equal to a GTX.

Thats 545 euros spent to upgrade. I can play UTIII, Stalker,Withcer, CoD4, World in Conflict etc etc all in 1680x1050 and highest quality.

As for Crysis? who gives a **** anyway. Until they learn to optimize their overrated **** engine... Crytek can suck it. Both Unreal Engine and Valve's Source engine > Crymeariver engine 2. there are plenty of other good games on PC.

Anyways, so inin short...PC gaming is only expensive if you don't know what you're doing.

PullTheTricker

PC gaming is not necessarily more expensive. PC games are usually priced from 39 to 49 euros while consoel games can reach prices to even 69 euros. Not to mention you have to pay for new maps wich we PC gamers get for free. Xbox Live fee 60 euros every year. etc etc...

If anything PC gaming is cheaper -_-
