Today is a big day for PC gamers with the release of the 8800 gt. I've been building PCs for awhile now, but ive never seen anything like this before.

In about 18 hours time I saw 5 different versions of the 8800 gt sell completely out on newegg. Yet PC gaming is dieing? I doubt that.

the 8800GT is an incrediblly good card for the money.....

add that to the fact that the crysis demo was well liked, and the release of Crysis, UT3, COD4...all big PC games, in litteraly a span of a week...and its not hard to see why they sold out so fast.

8800GT costs £130 and can run Crysis on near maxed settings...a C2D CPU costs £80...so one can build a £350 and get mindblowing graphics...the expensive PC myth is dead for sure...

Yeah just what I did. My cpu was only $65, a e2140 and its running at 3.3 ghz. Soon as my 8800 gt arives i'll be running crysis max, witha computer than costed a little over $500.

ofcourse the 8800GT sold out, it's the best price/performance you can get. It looks to be the new 7900GT and I think I may be upgrading my pc a little bit sooner than I had anticipated.
