Tiberium Wars gives the PC its 3rd AAA title this year, anyone still think PC gaming is dying?
There is also a 360 port of Tiberium Wars on the way, anyone guess how dumbed down the gameplay will be to make it casual console friendly?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I don't think anyone can truly argue that PC games aren't great, they are, but the bad part is you need a high-end gaming PC to run it no matter how you look at it.Tiberium Wars gives the PC its 3rd AAA title this year, anyone still think PC gaming is dying?

You're fighting a losing battle. I built my PC from scratch in '05, I bought all the parts from Newegg and several other sites at the cheapest prices I could find. Altogether (excluding Windows XP), it ran me $1200. Just because the PC has high rated games doesn't mean it isn't dying as a gaming platform. Lets face it, for probably 90% of the gaming population that doesn't build their own PC's, PC gaming is way to expensive when compared to console gaming. That happened to me back in 2001, I used to be a PC gamer, but I couldn't justify the price of upgrading when compared to the price of buying an Xbox.pundog
Yet...it hasnt stopped pumping out more AAA titles than any other system. Is that a dieing platform?

do people really play pc games?

Ignorance.. all over the place on that comment.
Look at the sales figures for games like Half-Life2, World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade, Tiberium Wars, Company of Heroes, etc etc.
The PC has tons of great games. And yes, people still play them.
What AAA's have to do with the money it makes. Just because a game is AAA does not mean it will make lots of money, and that's what counts (although it does affect sales).azrealhk
you mean besides the fact that Burning crusade is selling better than any console game has in last two years

Read my post again, just because a platform has high rated games doesn't mean its not dying. I'm sure the GC had more higher rated games (RE4, Zelda's, Metroid's etc) last year than the Xbox or PS2, so why did it come dead last? Sales numbers are what matter and judging by the fact I can't go to a Best Buy or Futureshop and buy a gaming PC and that all the EB games where I live have relegated PC games to a single wall unit to make room for consoles says that gaming on the PC is nowhere near as popular as it once was.Just because the PC has high rated games doesn't mean it isn't dying as a gaming platform. So basically your point is because you gave up PC gaming in 2001 it must be dying?
It actually funny you bring up that point, since based on these trends you'll need to give up console gaming soon as it's rapidly becoming more expensive. The PS3 and 360 are the most expensive consoles in years (I believe the PS3 is the most expensive ever) and the required investment of a HDTV dwarfs the cost of even Crysis capable PC hardware. Add in the fact you need to pay for services like XBL you get for free on PC, and the fact PC software is on average cheaper than console software, I think you've got your wires crossed.
But it's not just that;

PC gaming is more popular than ever, more people game on PC than ever before. Is it as popular as console gaming in US? of course now, but the point is: it never was. Pc gaming is constantly growing, just not as fast as console one(but on the other hand costs of development and marketing also aren't growing anywhere near as fast on PCs as they do on consoles)

believe? in what? facts? I don't think I have to. GRAW launched on PC many months after 360 version. Heck...GR2 wasn't even on PC. SO exacly how GRAW fits into your "most AAA PC games get ported to 360" theory? considering it was neither AAA Pc game nor was it ported to 360(it was Pc version that was a port).
All you write is proving that most AAA 360 games get ported and 360 is incredibly weak when it comes to exclusives, nothing more
and now were back to that higher standards crap oh well I hate to bring up old arguements but "more $$ for more grass " its just more of a draw distance.. WOWOMG THE GAME IS SO MUCH BETTERsupermechakirby
Read GameSpot's review FAQ. PC has higher standards because frankly, PC is a better gaming system and has a better library. And yes, the game is much better with improved visuals and user made content, the ability to edit and fix quest bugs (which basically are game stopping on the 360 version) and to create new content.
You've still not told me what makes the 360 version better, you've just pathetically quoted some numbers, not understanding how their meant to be applied.
