P.C is king of FPS genre

Even tho i'm a console gamer , i gotta admit P.C introduced best FPS games of all time . I love FPS games with a passion and my deepest respect for P.C gaming to provide us best FPS gaming experience EVER .

Series wise ( many games from the series nowadays are being developed for consoles ) :

Half Life , Doom , Quake , Return to castle Wolfenstein , NOLF , UT , Farcry , Call of Duty , Medal of Honour , Soldier of Fortune , F.E.A.R , Battlefeild , s.t.a.l.k.e.r , Crysis ETC .

Thoughts ? :)

I'd say its king simply for the controls alone. I'm primarily a console player and always have been. In most cases I prefer a controller over kb/m, but aiming with an analog is like painting with brick. Sure you can get used to it, but its just not the same.

In a dumbed down way or end up killing the game. i.e. Crysis 2,

ARMA II hasn't, its sequel hasn't, Crysis 1 and Warhead are still exclusive, STALKER games are still exclusive....pretty sure theres more.

Really? I have a PS3 and had themisfortune of purchasing BLOPS and Bulletstorm on it. Maybe I'd have more respect for those games had I played them on PC. But to be fair, they really aren't exactly good games lol.

I've never been a fan of cover shooting and autoaimas I prefer to play the game not the game play for me.

Who's talking about exclusives anyway, most of the good PC FPS's end up on consoles its a fact. Whether you prefer them on PC or console is irrelevant.

Hell yeah , loved NOLF and NOLF 2 on P.C very much . Mention of NOLF bringing back those sweet memories and nostalgic gaming days :)

Shame Contrack J.A.C.K ( sequel to NOLF 2 ) did not lived upto its expectations , very short gameplay PLUS no cate :(

Some years back i used to rant in G.S about NOLF 3 release and with cate archer in it always :)

NGB = king of hack nd slash action.

These games are widely accepted as the kings of their respective genres. These games have no official release on PC, meaning that the PC can not be king of those genres.

I hope that either Retro is prepping a next gen Metroid title, or EAD has an epic Mario title on the back burner. I miss the good old days of Ninty launching with a high profile Mario game.

If Retro isn't prepping a new Metroid, then I would be fine with another DKC. 2d or 3d would be fine, I really trust Retro a lot.

Nintendo is in good position to have excellent 1st party launch titles if they play their cards right.

As for Zelda, I'd just like to see SS out on the Wii asap and then have the Zelda team immediately move on the the Cafe.

Superior controls and awesome games like Stalker, Crysis 1 + WH, Cryostasis, Arma, Shattered Horizon and superior versions of FEAR, HL2, TF2, CS, etc. Nothing even comes close to PC in terms of FPS, if you ask me.

Well when someone says X platform is king of Y genre then you would think that it would have the best game from said genre. I guess I can accept your argument, but even so, are you still trying tell me that the PC has consoles beat in both the hack nd slash and 3d platformer genres? I think not, but I'm more than willing to listen. More games for me to enjoy if you have some good recommendations.

Man I would love to see something like Majoras Mask again. Its not my favorite Zelda, but it really shook things up in a way that I couldn't fully appreciate at the time. We need something different like that again in the series.

I see what you're saying about Mario, but I would even be pleased with a side scrolling Mario launch title. Something with a little more charm than NSMBW though. As great as that game was, it had no soul. Sorry, but I cant think of a better way to describe it. Its like the designers at Nintendo uploaded their knowledge into a computer that generates Mario games and NSMBW was the result. :P I want a side scrolling Mario that really stands out like SMB3, SMW, SMW2.

And a Retro Conker would be bad ass. They would probably make it better than it ever was.
