PC is King Simply Because of Web Games

Think about it. The gaming market has expanded beyond billions of gamers in the past few years, partially because of the Wii, but mostly because of PC giving access to my mom to play games online.

I am referring to playable web games, be it flash or anything else

Consoles will never offer this because they can sell them as download games instead and they are usually the same quality, some Wii games on disk are of the same quality as flash games. Flash games are great as time wasters and very entertaining for the kids, but you can't crown pc because of them seeing as they are on par with motion control games for depth.

Games like famrville and Mafia wars has broadened the PC gamer market for sure. And also made millionaires of some indie developers.

The pc is king because your mom has plenty of Flash games to play? If anything that shows that the pc is no longer the powerhouse that it used to be. Companies like iD and Epic no longer design games around it but mommies everywhere are thrilled with the vast selection of Flash games.

PC probably has been the Casual King since Windows and Solitaire and Minesweeper(not sure how it was on DOS days). Browser games only made it bigger. Not even the Wii or cellphones are competition in amount of casuals(maybe cellphones and/or other handheld devices will take it someday?).

depends on what you want to run. To run Crysis at max settings and mods with 1080p and great AA it could easily cost 1500. You can make a great computer for around 900 with the moniter included.

PC does seem to offer the most to the widest gamut of gamers out there, both with flash-based all the way up to full retail releases.

Well, anyone with any pc can play them. As for actual "games", ps3 has done the best so far.

It doesn't. I was merely stating the best experience possible is all.

The PC is king because the FPSs aren't so casualized (I'm looking at you, Black Ops single player).

The first time I installed it I did in an old IDE-133(I believe) I still had. It took like 25 minutes max.

You can build a computer that smokes a console for only around 400-500USD.

Heck a 750USD laptop will easily beat a console and that comes with a screen.
