wow .. i bought my wii for 945 USD .. my 360 for 850 USD i know i look like a lier but its the sad truth actually (pretty expensive here) so i win!

edit : and the games are sold for about 95 USD new and the price never changes ... i win... again..

well ive been a gamer since 6 and ive played the NES,SNES ,SEGA,GAMEBOY,GAMEBOY CLR,ADVANCE,PS,PS2,PS3,N64,Dream cast,XBOX,360,and some PC games PSP & DS ... so sure ive played alot of games..

Hmm.... Some would say that level of investment and modification could border on geek gaming as opposed to hardcore gaming. Just an observation... If someone stated they'd reached level 241 in space invaders... without losing a life.... and blindfolded, then I admit that's hardcore. Spending money, wanting longer games and tweaking levels is something else...

Hardcore gamers are gamers who buy EVERY SYSTEM and just about EVERY GREAT GAME for every system and beats them all and unlocks all the achievements, trophies and unlockables. That's hardcore. Has nothing to do with how much you spend on a PC, CPU or GPU. So no. PC Gamers aren't true hardcore gamer if all they play are Pc games.:P

I've played PC games and got tired of buying games the were only 50-75% finished. Just about 50% of the PC games that get released aren't even complete. I think gamers got tired of buying PC games and loading them on their PC hoping they will play correctly without have to look for patches to fix all the bugs or new video card drivers to make sure your cards were all up to date. You don't have to do any of that crap on a game console. Whatever updates that are need are done automatically without have to search for it.

I spend over $4000 a year on all my consoles (combined of course). I have so many games in my collection (most of it at public storage though), that it would take a lifetime to have my complete list here on gamespot. I used to be worse, spend about $10,000 a year, but then I got a gf and had to decide to start cutting back. =/

EDIT: A hardcore gamer is someone who truly loves games (probably more than I do). Infact, they probably spend most of their life playing games, much like I do. I'm not technical nerd and all, I just love video games. =P

And if they were truly hardcore, they wouldn't be complaining about the E3 conferences (if they even watched the whole thing). They wouldn't be bragging here, they would be playing their games.

PC has both the most hardcore and casual players... at the same time.

WoW isnt an RPG, and now this.... do you live in some alternate reality to the rest of us.

Hardware price isnt hardcore.

you don't need £500 for a gaming computer if you play most games on pc. Some of the best PC games (still being released) have very low system requirements so more people can play them.

You can still be hardcore snob playing fallout on a 5 year old machine and tell everyone fallout 3 will suck :P

Strange. for me strategy games like supreme commander still run aweful, and my pc cost USD equivilant of $1400
