I really wish I knew how to make a poll here but oh well...:( Anyways the topic simple which one do you prefer and why? Everyone is allowed an opinion so don't insult anyone for their particular taste.

Me personally...I prefer the PC. It's more convenient for me because it does everything. Heck it even cooks for you now(You can order Online!). The only thing it's missing is a pot to crap in and someone warm to keep you hor...actually it has that too.

Game wise it's perfect for me. I prefer the mouse and keyboard over a controller. I can enjoy both sweet graphics(Crysis) and excellent gameplay(Ultima 6) because PC has the best backwards compatibility bar non.

And, overall I prefer the games on PC.

Now don't get me wrong I love consoles and in fact I had a 360 before it gave me the finger. But, PCs give me two hobbies: tinkering and gaming.

Anyways I'll probably get another 360 in the near future, right now though I have my eye fixed on the Wii. But, enough about my tastes which do you prefer to game on?

I've been a PC only gamer for 10 years. I've grown with PC gaming and so it's obvious what i prefer. i've been having a lot of fun with the wii. the wii is my first console and it's totally great.

Games on the wii and ds are so different from pc games that i can play a variety of great video games.

You can't make a poll unless you reach a certain level.

PC interests me, but I don't plan on being a PC gamer for awhile. Too skeptical about it, developers keep trying to push the limits and it seems like one minute you have a good rig but the next its just average. Maybe I am just blowing it out of proportion but I don't know.

;y take on this subject is the following. PC is the best for MMOs in general. X-Box Live is more than awsome but the PC on line comunity is unique. FPS, RTS, TBS and FPS are all better on a PC on my book.

Consoles provide a simpler medim where all of the above genres work and where others like racin, fighting, plataformers and many more genres work as well.

They are different. No one can honestly say that one is better than the other. Just pick what fits you best.

PC definitely has the better games.

Personally I think there's no better pair than a PC along with a console for Nintendo's epic exclusives.
But I use my PC to enjoy most RTS and FPS games, and consoles for the rest.

Console. Started gaming with the Atari 2600 and have owned all consoles since.

Been gaming for 23 years and on both the PC and consoles. Consoles seem to be more accessible to me but PC's always have a title worth playing.

@MrInkr

Well, the way I see it is you if spend $1000 on a gaming rig it will most likely play games on Very High settings for a year or two. But, it's going to show it's age after that period. I really don't have a problem with that though I can handle playing games on medium settings for years after that. But, once I have to start playing games on low then I know that I have to start upgrading.

Again, the cost of upgrades really isn't that bad compared to the price of a console.

For instance if I have a 2002 rig with a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz processor and 1 gig of RAM, the only thing I'll have to upgrade is my Graphics card, RAM, and possibly my PSU if I haven't been keeping up with that.

8800GTX+$60 Stick of 1 gig RAM+ New PSU=Price of a PS3.

PC for me overall, although I play on consoles as well..

Like the OP stated though, the PC gives me two hobbies in one, tinkering and gaming, love it. That being said, I'm glad I've been a gamer of all systems my whole life, it's the best of all worlds, alhtough I'll take a mouse and keyboard over a gamepad anyday.

I prefer console gaming. I appreciate PC gaming and was PC centric for a LONG while, but since the XBox, consoles have really dominated my play time. For me it is more a matter of cost, comfort, convenience, low-maintenance, and the fact that I work with computers as a part of my job. That definitely made PC gaming less fun. Don't get me wrong, I love my PC, but I love my 360 more.

i grew up on consoles, i played through nes snes ps1 ps2 and xbox 360 , i played my first pc game back in the ps1 era, i played counter-strike on my cousins computer, since then i still this pc is BY FAR the best gaming platform ever, yes its complicated, but complicated things are good as long as your willing to learn about it as they provide deeper experiences,, same goes for games (imo) the more complicated/higher learning curve.. the longer the game will last me, or it will just be an amazing game, simply because you have to learn it, and in order for you to learn something it has to be new to you.... which means it will be harder to get tired of it...

pc>consoles

I grew up on consoles since duck hunt on NES. I hada sega saturn, NES, SNES, 64, PS1, PS2, 360, and PSP. Ive always played PC games but not as much as my consoles. Then once I got into building PC and just loving putting them together that I became like a Pc freak. I am now mainly a PC gamer but I still play my 360 a lot just not as much as my PC. So PC is the one I choose. I dont think it will change unless something durastic happens to the PC gaming community. PC gaming happily dying since the 80's.

PC. My favorite genres:Adventure, strategy and simulations are practicly PC-exclusive. I find fpses unplayable on a pad, I prefer racing sims over arcade racing and wRPGs ove jRPGs. And I love puzzle games. DOn't care for fighters. So for me the choice is clear

Well I love them all! :) I really like the PC mainly because it has games that really only recently appeared on consoles (decent WRPGs, specifically Mass Effect). I am an old-skool player, so I like games like Baldur's Gate and Fallout. And you can only get those on the PC. But I'm starting to get into console FPS and I personally feel that FPS should only be played on a console :). Still, if I had to make a choice, I still choose PC for now, because there are just so many great RPGs that I can't give up just yet. But when there starts to be tons of great RPGs on consoles too, on the level of Baldur's Gate I mean, then I'll probably switch.

PC. I'm a strategy type of guy, so Age of Empires, Civilizations, Medieval II, and World in Conflict -- can't be done on consoles... well, save World in Conflict. I can't wait to see how much it's dumbed down.

Console by far. Hate RTS and MMO or any point-and-click game where you are basically controlling "robots" doing most of the gameplay. Oh and in addition, I'm different than most as I grew up with PC BEFORE console, having played games where the visuals were simply lines of pseudo-3d and crap effects and stuff like "Buck Rogers", C&C, Myst, Indiana Jones (the Atlantis one), Hexen, etc.

how do you have RTS and Point and Click Adventures? If you hate point and click adventures you must not have played a good one... The best ones are the funny ones. There are a lot of classics and some more recent absolutely fantastic games.

It all really depends what I'm in the mood for. Theres no one platform that I would call my favorite. I find it funny that people are making all these snide remarks about PC gaming's price, convenience, etc and they're blowing it way out of proportion. Typically I play my PC when I want a great community, long term games, and games that are more along the lines of "Make your own fun" with infinite replayability. I tend to play consoles for a few specific games here and there; Suikoden for the amazing storyline, Silent Hill for the engrossing universe, the Tales of series for the colorful characters, etc. (Largely games that don't really exist in abundance on the PC). I would never play FPS games on the consoles, because I dislike gamepads and theres just so many higher quality titles to be had on the PC. Fighters and action adventure games really don't interest me all that much except for maybe the first few Soul Calibur games. (Asteroth fanboy). If you were to ask me to pick between the two I probably couldn't. They offer vastly different experiences for the most part. I just hate it when dissollusioned fanboys try to spew misconceptions about the PC to try and validate their own jaded beliefs. Its sad really.

I have been mostly a PC gamer for years, but I have really been playing the crap out of my 360 and neglecting PC. I'm not too interested in the recent titles available on PC, whereas I've had a lot of playtime on my 360. PGR 4, Forza 2, and Mass Effect have all been good fun.

The only thing I'll come back to PC for is competitive CS:Source, which I step into and out of every once in a while. Right now I'm just using it as a media centre for movies and such, and then streaming them to my 360.

Consoles. I'm terrible with PC's, and most games i want come out on consoles.

I've thought about going into PC's, but when i buy a PC game and i'm missing some component, either hardware or software, i have no idea what to do.

I used to play games on both but switched to consoles only. Igave up a few years ago when Half Life 2 would barely run on my PC with most of the settings turned down. Now my PC has fun playing emulators, bejeweledand solitaire.

PC is my prefered platform although I do have quite a nice collection of 360 games. The only FPS you will see in my console collection is Halo: CE and The Darkness. I sold my copies of Halo 2 and Halo 3 because of how bad they suck.

That's the problem on YOUR end for not checking requirements. if you have a good PC, you don't have to check requirements at all.
