PC truly is the ultimate gaming system

147 AAAs and over 600 AA games. What other system can compete?

PC always wins. It easily has the best library of games of any system ever made and no system will ever touch its continually growing AAA/AA total. It is undeniable that is destroys every console out there.

Thats not really a fair comparison though, by those standards you would count Nintendo's AA/AAA titles rather than just their respective consoles, especially since you can play virtually (no pun intended) all of them on the Wii.PBSnipes

and do we include handhelds? if so add the AAAs and AAs of the GB, GBC, GBA and DS.

same applies to the PS and xbox, though i think ninty have the greatest chance of matching it since theyve been in the business longer.

It does have more games this gen than any console but lets not forget the graphics, free GOOD online, and awesome controls.ndrewn

Games with more depth. A larger community that brings retails games to another level through mod support, fan sites, leagues, etc. The platform for gaming innovations.

Cheap, fun, powerful, able to play all the games released not just one system....yep looks like pc isn't my idea of the ultimate gaming machine.

When pc gaming gets cheap ill jump out and upgrade my current pc right now its hardly capable of playing Empire earth 2 which is why i puchased a cheap laptop so as to play RTS games (the only games i enjoy on the pc) and a few free mmo's when i get bored of console games, PC gaming isn't cheap regardless of what the hermits want you to believe.

some of the highest scoring pc games ARE....TA DA FPS games highest selling? LOL ta DA FPS games those are indepth? oh and WOW thats big but its not really in depth just go here deliver this item, fight these monsters then go here and get your prize of exp and gold.

Agreed. The PCs gaming library v. a console's library is kind of silly.

Whilst the PC certainly has its advantages, the consoles have some as well.

Namely: a lower price, much better overall ease of use, universal community intergration (like XBL), and, in many cases, exclusives that you simply cannot play on PC, like Zelda TP, Dead Rising, SMG, Virtua Fighter 5, Crackdown, and, soon enough, Ninja Gaiden 2, SSBB, Soul Calibur IV, and Fable 2.

So, overall, I don't see PC gaming as being categorically superior to console gaming at all.

In fact, I prefer consoles for modern games, though I still use my PC alot to play older games, like SS2 and Fallout.

EDIT: Also TC, your reasoning in the OP is quite ridiculous, and more than a little unfair.

How far back are you going when you tally the PC's AAA titles? since the PC isn't really tracked by generations how would you compare them?
