I may have been interested in such a game when I was a child, but at 31 I'm more interested in making sure my magnetos are set for the proper altitude, the fuel mix is just rich enough, my landing gear aren't stuck, my convergence range is appropriate for the speed/altitude/target, and that BF-109C on my six don't shoot me down. Take your plumbers, anime girls, hedgehogs, cute bunny rabbits, flowers, birds and interactive Final Fantasy movies. Please, take them, I don't want em. I'm settling in for some skill-and-proficiency based Simming! :lol: Can keep up with the youngins anymore, can ya?
And before you ask, I'm 28... and I haven't lost my ability to have fun yet. So take your age-base unhappiness and insecurities and sulk behind a monitor for the rest of your unnatural life while you only PRETEND to do something useful in a simulator instead of ACTUALLY doing something worthwhile, or at least ADMITTING that the games YOU play are JUST as big of a waste of time as the game that OTHER people play. You are what happens when someone takes themselves way to seriously and think they're better off than anyone else who play "teh kiddy". Fun is all that matters, so go and try to have some while realizing that not everyone has the same tastes as you.
You know, it's called "Playing" for a reason. So play, or shut up.
(P.S. And in all seriousness, enjoy your simulators. Just don't think they're the only way to play. Kay?)
First of all, I'm 31 and retired. I won the dot-com game in the late 90's. I have nothing but free time when the Mrs. is out. Further, I'm an actual hobby pilot with a private license. Unfortunately, I can't arm my plane in real life and engage in WW2 dogfights. I must rely on Sims to do this. I fly online with a lot of other real pilots. Most of the peeps at my flight club sim to some degree, and some are as into it as I am. These are grown men. And a few women. Do you really think they care about the next iteration of SSBM? My point was that by stating 'PC doesn't have SSB, PC loses' is a pretty short-sighted and unfounded comment. Summing up an entire industry based on YOUR personal preferences? And my statement was only about 'ME'. I stated that this is how I spend my time and I don't like the game you proposed as 'winning' for the consoles. YOU'RE taking an opinion and making a factual statement, I'M taking an opinion and stating an opinion. See the difference? There are plenty of 'gamers' out there who won't touch a console because it's CAN'T do many things the PC can. Name one true flight sim on the consoles...you can't because there aren't any. Not one. I hear you say "I don't care about flight sims", and that's really my point. Because we don't care about SSMB. And it certainly doesn't eliminate the PC from contention simply because the PC doesn't have it. My statement was an opinion and provided as such. Yours was far from being a truism, and was rather a matter of making a self-important pompous comment.
