Pc+Ps3=Win!(MY NEW PC)

So after configuring a rig in my newegg.com cart, it all came up to 700, which meant I was most likely going to have to sell my PS3 to raise funds for my pc, but after a few tweaks here and there, i was able to bring down the price to 600 and you have no idea how happy that made me.

here's the pc config:

CPU: Intel e5200 2.5 ghz(to be overclocked) nuff said.

MoBo. GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P

RAM: 4gigs of g. skill pc 6400 ddr2 ram kit.

HD: 320mb western digital 7200rpm drive

a cheap lite-on dvd/cd burner.

case for now is x-supra g-type with 500w PSU which will be replaced as soon as possible. I've sen someone else use the same case on youtube and his system didnt go up in flames so...

gpu: 9800gt 512mb oc. video cards

Mouse/keyboard

Total came up to 600$ and I dont even have to sell my PS3 anymore! good deal! U gotta' love newegg.

Nice, rig, If you are planning to use XP, you could cut the ram in half. BTW what size and res TV are you using.muscleserge

decent rig, and good price. i have an 8800gt, which is prettty similar to the 9800gt and it can max out most games except the obvious ones that are demanding like crysis. ps3 + pc is a good choice.Mckenna1845

PC+PS3= No point of Getting an Xbox 360, mate i was just like you with only a ps3 (and a wii) but then i got a new gaming PC (look at my sig) and ive never been bored since,

IMHO theres no point in having a x360 when you have a gaming PC, Gears of War we have, Mass Effect we have, Gears 2 we will get and Fable 2 and Halo 3 we will get.

I too have the wonderful PC+PS3 combo.

It's great, you get all of the PS3 exclusives, PC exclusives, and some 360/PC games :D

After not being able to run games i wanted to for 5 years i decided to go all out and buy a nice gaming rig. Put it together two weeks ago and its sexy!

true but I have a point. Sure you can get the best experience if u got the most cash..............but what about 90%+ of gamers who only have the money for 1-2 consoels and 1 handheld............at best?

Nice, I've been using that combo for a while now.

Not a great rig though...at all :S.

Yeah...I know..sub par. But I only run at 720p or 800 by 600 so I can play alot of games well. Crysis on medium, Left 4 Dead almost maxed, just no AA...biggest restriction is Shader Model 2.0 when a lot of games are using 3.0 :S.

With Ps3+PC, you get the best of 3 worlds :).

PC + PS3 FTW.

Nothing personal against X360, it has good games, but I don't like the way MS is influencing the PC gaming industry. I'd much rather play games like Alan Wake and Fallout 3 with a keyboard and mouse in high res.
