People are expecting to much from sony!

ok so microsoft showed titles we already knew about like gears and fall out. i know iknow the announced final fantasy but its not like they showed gameplay it was just a trailer.

Now people are saying that sony was dissapointing i knoe they could have done better but i think they did better then 360.

they announced god of war 3 which is gonna be huge, they showed infamous which doesnt look that bad, they showed resistance 2, they showed litte big planet, they gave us the video store, and the youtube feature. They announced a new IP MAG.

i know they should have showed heavy rain and some other games atleast but still. I think they did a good job.

Microsoft also did a good job with the avatar thing and gears and fable 2 it was great and i beleive very equal to sony's

Sony could have done so much more but failed to really deliver in my opinion. GOW3 will do very little for the console seeing how much bigger titles like MGS4 didn't do all that much either. They could of showed Killzone or something about Home. The GOW 3 was just a movie. It's obvious Resistance isn't on par with Gears 2 I bet Killzone would done much better.

If Sony has a flaw, it's that they do a bad job of managing expectations. They used the smoke n mirrors of CGI trailers in the past to their own detriment. The hyped up the PSN feature set. They're doing the same with Home. The expections become so high that disappointment is hard to avoid when these things see the light of day.

Personally, I know how to manage my own expectations, so I know to take Sony announcements and pressers with a grain of salt. But obviously fanboys lack that sense of objectivity.

Let's be fair here. E3 is not over. There's plenty of time for the big three to make more announcements.

For $599 I want a system that will give me back rubs, and cheer me up when I'm down. I understand it can't do that, but the least it could do is let me play great exclusive games, but it seems to be failing at that for the most part.

We already knew about GoW3 (rumored some time ago), Infamous(on the cover of GI magazine), Resistance 2 (announced early this year), and LBP (shown last year).

M$ is giving us NetFlix.. Along with an enitrely re-designed dash board.. And Avatars w/ the gameshow network of games..

I don't think Sony did a bad job but their conference was overshadowed by the FFXIII announcement.. That was pretty freaking huge!

And don't even try and say GoW3 was a bigger announcement... Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles (God rest his soul) could see that one coming.

yes i knoe gow 3 was only a movie so was ff13 and they did show killzone and it looks amazing it will have 32 player online and it will have all the internet stat tracking stuff on a website i forget which and they said they will announce more on this game until the end of E3 just watch the g4tv demo

I don't think Sony saw significant sales increases for the PS3 console when MGS4 came out, but everything else you say is right. The bottom line is that it didn't sell consoles the way Cows were saying it was going to and because of that it had a marginal impact on the consoles sales. GOW3 isn't going to much better for the PS3 imo.

I guess some people thought PS3 could time travel. Though, I'm starting to see games pass my expectations of the PS3 recently. I do think the momentum has shifted... but like I said before, We will know allot more by the end of fiscal.

Being a Nintendo supporter I'm not in the least worried about my future, Nintendo didn't give us alot in terms of games, but they did finally announce voice chat (long over do in my opinion) and Wii Motion Plus is definitely something amazing in my eyes giving a true 1:1 ratio with motion controls, so I'm expecting some big games coming up that will make great use of that.

Microsoft and Sony in my eyes were both rather unimpressive, though I was glad to see Final Fantasy XIII go multiplatform. Sony showed off more of the same and didn't really give us anything that new, though MAG looks interesting and was only truly new thing shown, nothing else really got me. I think only Microsoft had the truly big oh my god announcement, Sony was just more of what we have already seen and in that sense they didn't do well at all. How can you call 2008 the year of the PS3 when you aren't giving us new news but more of the same? Give us something we didn't already know Sony, give people like myself a reason to own a PS3 and not just show off some multiplatform games and a few exclusives that are just sequels to games that didn't get me to buy a PS3 before.

Also is it just me or is DC Universe Online a joke or what? Seriously it looks like a City of Heroes/Villians ripoff and would probably make a better single player game than a MMO game. Also there should have been more on MAG as well, that game looks like it could be really cool but with that brief glimpse I can't really tell as this point. One last thing, end the PS2 already, we all know they are keeping it around out of sheer spite just so they can come back and say "SEE! OUR CONSOLES DO LAST 10 YEARS!!" You can't really say a console is alive and being supported when all it gets are crappy spin offs and sports games, the PS2 just can't compete in this generation and they should just end it already, maybe that would get some more people to jump on board with the PS3.

One last thing, R.I.P. yet another PS3 SKU, though the 80 gig model doesn't seem like a bad deal, I'm sure there are plenty of people who aren't pleased with their recent 40 gig model purchase.

Hey,man , listen...... I know sony anounced more titles....4 new titles....but none of the ANNOUNCEMENTS showed gameplay, it was mostly consepts and teasers. The samething that happened this e3 happened Last year, ms had the better line up and everyone was sure sony would have a better line up 2008 and look what happen , ms has a better line up again. Ms has a history of keeping the focus on the curret year games.....and realsing info on their X'0 events.X'08 IS NEXT FOR THEM.

Yes,God of war was announes this e3 but......it was already announce before, many months before and they just show a 20 sec teaser as a reminder. Now the last time they did something this was in '05 and '06....and we all know what happened next. This e3 is like '06 all over agein. They should have shown gameplay, MAG AND GOW were just pitches with no gaqmeplay to back it up. Say what you want about ms and nintendo but they at lease have gameplay and ms is getting all the rpgs. I'm surprised that your so quick to defend Sony with 2 years of next to 0 support for games for the ps3 and with them just showing short trailers. Yes, they have more 1st party games, but are they better games that are on the market, NO.

Let me give you an exaple, Uncharted. It is a good game, but it was short and a single player game, which is unexscusible. Now compare it to RE4 AN '05 GAME. It was long,had extra modes after end game and many sub games to boot. Uncharted should not be compard to GEoW , it's just a better version of Stanglehold.

MGS and Little Big Planet is the only thing to have a ps3 for other than the theirs no point, not for rpgs, not for shooters, or adventure games or any thing. And please don't bring up blue ray, it's not worth the cost of it and it clear that Sony is getting ready secure the posibility to abandoning it.(No, I did not say the will just that they could.) I just that it's 2 and a half years, all they have is MGS and after Lbp their is nothing. It's the new Xbox. And now their asking to wait again.

Now their plenty of things they could do to improve the service like add more content for Uncharted, new levels for heavly sword, and etc. Other than Rachet and clank there's nothing added on.

Also, look at the history of the sony brand. 3rd party game have all ways been they strongest sellers, never first party. In fact that later stung the with the psp. It had next to 0 1st party support and never started selling after theit launch until 3rd party start to make games for it few years later. 1st party sony was never very strong and the ps3 has no 3rd party. Man, it has no rpgs.

Now with ff13, ff13 dosn't really matter. It's true that 1 game will not change game market sales, look at Halo. But it not ff13 , which is now multiplt, that make the 360 better the ps3, it's the fact that 4 jrpg and 4 wrpgs in additional are coming on the 360.If your an rpg lover it impossible to ignore the 360 now that the fear of not playing ff13 is away.(Only for people out side of japan).

You really should ask yourself why am I only support the ps3 with so little game? Why I passionately hate other systems now? Right now their no reson to just support it. Now if you still want to keep your ps3, go on, but just remember.....it will be the past 2 years all over again.

I know the ps3 is not a horrible system but in reality it just a system with the same graphics of other systems with little extras.

It just that their better things out their, pc,360 and Wii.
