They have always done this so why would microsoft be any different in the console wars, paying off websites or giving them huge advertising money to swing things in there favour is not far fetched at all??

I do think gamespot(cnet) is one of microsofts sites, gamespot are biased but there smart about it by giving games a decent rating if it wouldnt really effect microsoft a example of this is uncharted Average being a 9 but gamespot gave the game an 8 which is one of the lowest scores around for it, next being Ratchet and clank this was a big one for ps3 that they shot down and made it known!!
But then the orange box comes out for ps3 and gets average ratings everywhereso now it's time to not look biased and go ahead and give it a 9 just because no matter what score it gets from gamespot it's just not going to effect microsoft in anyway as it's already out and all the other sites have already done a good job at telling everyone how inferior it is to the 360 version
Fact is games that matter and could swing things in ps3s favour gamespotfind ways to underate them to try killdown hypeand games that dont matter get good scores if not above average compared to what it's getting on other sites because it wont effect the 360 in anyway as other sites have already done the job and shutting the doors and this allows gamespot to not look totally biased.
It's not far fetched to believe it happens.
What is far fetched however is believing that it happens frequently with absolutely no proof whenever you see some pro-MS or anti-MS competitor news.
The examples you give are pure lunacy. If you would honestly claim that everytime GameSpot gives a piece of anti-MS news that they are just trying to look neutral, then I don't know how to argue with that.
If this were true they never would have given Crackdown or Blue Dragon scores below the average. GameSpot has always given games lower scores (most of the time).
I think Microsoft just killed off your understanding of how to post coherently. They have always done this so why would microsoft be any different in the console wars, paying off websites or giving them huge advertising money to swing things in there favour is not far fetched at all??

 blue dragon was a huge title of the 360...it got a 7....mass effect was a nother huge title for the 360...it got an 8.5.....seriously....just stop with ur cow conspiracies...they are getting old and tiresome...most hardcore gamers look at reviews from websites...and there are more casuals than hardcore gamers out there...so a score isnt going to change how well a game will sell...get the hell over itDante2710Listen to this person because he/she speaks truth, alsotheir are multiple reviewers on GS and thats why the scores are all over the place for each console because everyone has different opinions. Also Blue Dragon got a 6 which backs you up even more Dante2710.

Hey, you wanna know which company is the only video game company to be CONVICTED on antitrust/monopoly accusations pertaining to the video game industry??????
NINTENDO.
So please save your MS is all evil, it's all a conspiracy BS.
Any company will do whatever it takes to make money, thats the nature of the beast.Nintendo and sony would and will do the same thing if they had microsofts money.Dont forget sony is a wealthy company as well. Its just buisness my friends and people will go were the games are and currently the games are on the 360.Not to sell the other consoles to short because they have a few gems to offer, just not as many as microsoft.Id honestly like to see all three companys do well because it keeps the creative process goin but i have to be honest, the 360 has the best games right now.
yes m$ are bigger bribers then the people who rig proffesional sports, they advertise everywhere...even where they are unwanted (japan), i wonder how much putting an xbox 360 in transformers set them backunreal48
Probably billions of dollars especially figuring they had to pay off the JDF and they got mechas and stuff too.
I have agreed with most every score given to a game here at gamespot. What about 360's Kane and Lynch? Oh you will say well that is why Microsoft got Jeff fired right?
I can name many good games for 360 that got a lower score here than the average score among other review sites.

And why do they think Nintendo is family friendly, they made love hotels in Japan (seriously look it up).

When was Blue Dragon a huge title? ME scored a lot higher than this on other sites, and you're right that there are more casual gamers, but most of the games they buy are pretty bad.
Do Sony fanboys have a selected memory around here when it comes down to their precious "Playstation Family"? Two last two gens all media outlets were Playstation crazy because of the quality of games and its vast variety. But this gen Sony has set the bar for anything and everything that can possibly go wrong with launching a console, but the Sony fanboy are pointing fingers at the media outlets instead of placing blame where it belongs, @ Sony....Teh Bias!!!!
All of the media outlets that arent on the "its a Playstation" bandwagon and reporting the obvious shortcomings of Sony's offering this gen are somehow on the MS payroll (regardless if Nintendo is really making all the money this gen). The same media outlets that are considered "teh bias" constantly ripped the Xbox1 for its flaws and devs not utilizing the machine to its full potential (sounds familiar doesnt it?). With first party offerings that were great, but not strong enough to make someone invest the expensive, late to launch machine (deja vu anyone? bueller? bueller?)
But hey what do I know, I just been gaming for over 25 years and seen this trend repeat itself many times. The only difference are the players of the game (Sony, Ninty, MS) and the distribution of gaming information. Move along people, nothing more to see!!!
Game On...
